productive and fun workplase

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Good work organization, friendly team, clear work tasks. The performance of work tasks depends only on the employee himself. The work done is evaluated accordingly. Much is being done for Covid-19 occupational safety, face masks, social distancing, workplace disinfection, and a free Covid-19 test right at the workplace.

Pros

free lounches, no dresscode

Cons

long hours

Good place too work

Busy, fast paced place too work with very helpful staff and good quality training. The shifts at Amazon fly in,been working here about a month now stowing ( packing the shelves) and picking and although you're on the go for the whole shift, its not hard work and the wages are quite good £11.26hr on night shift. Overtime is available at great rates.

Pros

Good value for money canteen £2.50 for a main meal, free tea and coffee and good facilities for all employees.

Cons

10hr shifts, but you only have too work 4 the rest are no pressure optional.

Overtime rip off

Just watch out what shift you get, if you are Fri to mon lets say you will not be paid overtime as it spans over 2 working weeks. UTTER RIP OFF! the times i worked a 60 hour week and was paid the normal pay rate per hour. oh and do not even think about accruing holiday pay as you will get ripped on that also.

Pros

nothing

Cons

everything

Work hard, and that's about it.

For what you do, working in a warehouse environment, the wage is pretty good. But it's incredibly demanding work, and for someone like myself who is very mentally active, it will drive you mad... but if you're someone who can "turn off" and just work on auto pilot, you'll probably find it to be pretty good. They're less strict on stats than they used to be, they give new starters a lot more leeway, but once you get past the first month they'll start making sure you meet their pretty strict targets, and if you don't you're gone. The contract time of 9 months is a suggestion really; you'll either be offered permanent or laid off well before that, though you only get permanent if you're good.

Excellent

Easy job. Good money !!! Job didn’t require much of pressure but need to be physically fit for walking a lot and being fast to learn your duties so it helps for your productivity. Opportunity’s for overtime which brings more money than the fixed weekly payment.

Fast paced

Fast paced environment, stressful but the money is good. the lunches were cheap and they give you free Christmas dinner. It is very stressful because they always pull you about everything you do even if its your first day.

Pros

Cheap lunches

Not to great working conditions, but you get exactly what you sign up for

Typical day at work is long and repetitive, with hardly any room for error, and not much time on breaks. Although it sounds bad, if you can stick it the benefits outweigh the cons, and considering the simplicity in the application process and the work you do day to day it's easy money. While there i learned about the sheer amount of stuff that goes behind the scenes to every Same-Day delivery and what runs it. Management above the section managers don't seem to care for individuals, but the team leading each section is happy to help and do what they can to help. The conditions aren't great as you have to keep to strict targets on an hourly basis with little room for error, and slowing down even to go to the toilet is difficult, so that's a problem. The work isn't difficult, just repetitive, but if you're working on your feet you'd better be sure you can go for long hours at a time. At least most of your colleagues are nice people.

Pros

Great pay for labor work

Cons

Working conditions are bad, very strict targets.

Stowing

Amazon was a nice place to work, I loved saying i worked at Amazon because its one of the biggest company's in the world. it was a shame it was a temporary position or else i would still be there now. My day to day typical type of work was stowing, which invovled robots bringing trolleys to my station, for my to load up the trolleys as best as i can. I only worked there for Christmas but i really enjoyed it, and you get a lot of benefits of putting the work in

Pros

Free lunches

Cons

long hours

Big place for work

If you have luck, you can have a good manager and you can work good there, but in my opinion and situation is the opposite. If you have any físical problem for the repetitive movement is a long prosses for doing something for change. And have preference between manager and some employees. A job so easy but sometime so stressful for the management.

Pros

Good salary

Cons

Bad management

It was hard

Working at amazon was a lot of work, and you were kind of underappreciated for the work that you did. I worked there when was 18 years old and you do meet people there but it is also kind of lonely because you are working by yourself on a daily basis for like 10 to 12 hours. You have to be able to go a while without conversation and your not even able to be accompanied by radio or some music. But if you are able to be alone for hours, you'll be ok. I wouldn't recommend this job on a career building mission but for month or two it's alright.

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Long hours, a lot of isolation

Fun to work there

Brakes are too short, and canteen is way to far away from place where you working. Sometimes heavy and oversized boxes need to be handled by hands. Overpriced and not tasty food

Pros

Free hot drinks

Cons

Problems with traffic

Hard work, bad support.

The managers show no support for employees. Even when doing the job, in the stowing department at least, they stopped you from having a friendly chat with colleagues. If you want your soul sucked out as effectively as kissing a Dementor, go for it.

Pros

none

Cons

long hours, no support from managers, no benefits. Treat staff as they do in America- which is badly.
