On the whole Amey is a great FM company to work for its the management that put up hurdles and drain the life out of you. You dont get any support from your line manager hed rather bury his head in the sand.

The team at Amey are very supportive and cooperative with each other. You know what is expected of you and are treated fairly and well. It’s a busy company to work for and always plenty to do but never feel swamped as help is always at hand. The management is very good and keeps abreast of what’s going on and are as transparent as you would expect.
Pros
Good salary and benefits
Cons
Can’t think of any

Having spent the last 15 years doing 12-15 hour shifts, working an 8 hour shift was a doddle, management fair and supervisors great as well.the only people I found that moaned about the company where the ones that was always late, always finding excuses to get out of work, always off sick etc etc if they worked at any other company they wouldn't last 5 minutes
Pros
Being home no later than 15:30 every day, supportive supervisor
Cons

In the HMP establishment where I was working, the work team was brilliant very friendly and helpful. It was a real team environment. The environment was a safe place to work even thou you were in a prison environment. Its good pay for the work load you do for it.Management are only interested in making themselves look good and not caring about the work force in general
Pros
The work team, friendly and welcoming

Awful management. No concern for anyone's wellbeing whatsoever. You're just part of a system that does not work properly and the only thing that matters are the stats and what the next person above you says, even though they don't have a clue what they're doing. At Amey I met some of the weirdest unfriendliest people I could ever imagine. Toxic work environment. Please don't waste your time here.

Never in my life have I worked for a worse company. Bullying, victimising, threatening demeanour and untrustworthy management who will just a quickly throw you under the bus as they would pay you onto it. If you have any valuation in your own happiness, do not not work for Amey Street Lighting division in Broxburn.
Pros
Not many
Cons
Not enough time in the day to list all of them.

you'll never have the same day twice. There is always something different to experience. If you are good at organisation this is the place for you if you don't mind the long hours.

Amey is ok company to work for higher management rule the roost there is a lot of being fobbed off ... bit of an old boys club. Some people are whiling to help you and others not so much. As a general job it’s easy and not stressful but pay was quite low for management as your are only on a couple pound more then the people you manage. But have all the responsibilities. I would return to amey to work
Pros
Easy work if whiling to put the effort in
Cons
not very much emotional support

I have been her for more than 2 years and the way management with employees is that they don’t care as long as they get the work done. There’s been more people leaving job than how many people are there... I would definitely NOT recommend it as the wage is rubbish and the gritting bonus is only buttons a night.. I work on the Scottish glasgow schools and there is no organisational skills in management. There don’t care that you are risking your life for them. Place is an utter joke!!
Pros
Winter hours are different from summer hours
Cons
• don’t get paid if you are travelling from site to yard

It would take more than a book to tell the full story. Wages - check them as they are always wrong. Support - very little. Management - not sure any have done actual real courses. PPE - I failed an audit once because my boots had a hole in them months after trying to get a new pair. I have been trying to get a new jacket for at least 12 months.
Pros
One of the easiest jobs I ever interviewed for.
Cons
You know when you get that feeling your getting played, you will get that feeling a lot.
