Stressful unsurported
Head of operations (Former Employee) - England - 22 June 2022
Amey culture at the very top is not transfered to Operations Directors , they appoint with mo reference to policy and see a work force as only a means to place margin onto bottom line

All good
Self Employed Plant Operator (Current Employee) - Peebles - 30 May 2022
Enjoyed my time. Very busy workplace with a good management team . Problems were solved without a blame culture being attached to it which I've found to be prevalent in construction

Too many hrs and not one bit of Appreciation
I was working as a caretaker the working week wasn’t too bad apart from them wanting you to be in 5 places at once and get everything done in 10 minutes . You don’t really get a break because you have a radio constantly on so you always live and the weekend are ridiculous two 13hr shifts then straight back in Monday shocking

Repetitive work with some room for autonomy
Customer Service Operator (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 17 May 2022
At my role the main focus was on productivity (answering calls, completing jobs, call quality, etc.). Some room for autonomy was allowed especially in out of hours roles (producing more efficient process, coming up with creative solutions, etc.)

Worst place
Administrator (Former Employee) - Larkhill - 6 April 2022
I imagine that Amey as whole may get mixed reviews but the office I worked in was most definitely the worst place i have ever worked, get thrown in at the deep end, made to feel like an outsider, hated going in every day due to other staff members who don't like new comers. Would not recommend it.

Jobs at Amey
Shocking
Stores Person (Former Employee) - Lincoln - 5 March 2022
Don’t waste your time working here no support shocking management and unfair pay for the jobs you have to do and things you have to deal with if you have a problem you are asked to sort it yourself because management only care about themselves and you get laughed at when you need things for your job absolute joke.
Pros
None
Cons
Bad management

Easy, laid back.
Mobile Plant Operator (Former Employee) - Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire - 2 March 2022
Good place to gain experience for novice operators and gain new qualifications/tickets. Massively underpaid in comparison to other successful waste treatment/management businesses. which reflects on everyone's easy going lazy attitude towards helping the business grow, hence why there's no money and the pays so poor. Good sick pay scheme which is reassuring.
Pros
Easy going. Good sick pay.
Cons
Poor salary. Machines could do with upgrading.

It’s who you know……
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 6 February 2022
Understaffed and only chance of advancement is if you know the right people. Lazy people get away with doing nothing and the people that do work just get more and more without any thanks.
Pros
Not much
Cons
Under-appreciated.

Used as stepping stone or a platform to learn only
Controller planner (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 20 November 2021
bad management, roster could be out and changed every week. They group onto a gang, u are either accepted or left out. Management have bad memory, no system, doesn't give a proper training, so everyone has different technique. Have to use your own judgement which is the correct way. God bad shift, not flexible work.
Pros
can be used as a stepping stone
Cons
bad management, either accepted into grouo or left out, with lits yo do but not appreciated.

Management out their depth
Maintenance Manager (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 5 October 2021
I was recruited as a FM manager however the existing managers are all set in their ways (This is the way it’s always been done) The way they operate is dangerous for the business and their clients as they have people making decisions for financial reasons only, with no regards to compliance or health and safety. Not only this those making the decisions don’t have the skill sets to make the right calls at the right times. Things need to change top to bottom as they are a company that are circa 15 years away from their nearest competitor.
Pros
Fleixible working
Cons
Management

Overworked, Underpaid, Management Don’t listen
Cleaner (Former Employee) - Earlston, Scottish Borders - 28 September 2021
Working Supervisor doesn’t work just dictates, People are constantly needing to cover extra areas as staff constantly leaving or off sick due to work related stress or injuries due to having two or three extra areas to cover. Little time to spend in ur designated area however standards are expected to be at a 98% pass. Supervisor speaks to u like a two year old manager don’t listen

Not very good company at all
Supervisor/Team Leader (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 24 July 2021
This company is full of promises they just can’t deliver No career progression lack of any guidance unless you ask repeatedly and be a pest Only staff they seem to pay attention to are the naughty ones Even though they want you to write reviews pointless as they will not pay any mind to it even if the contract is sinking
Pros
Can’t really think of anything
Cons
The list is endless
