Worked here as an admin before being made redundant. It’s a fast paced environment and not every day is the same. People I worked with on the team were amazing and extremely helpful. Flexible working is very useful as you can pick and choose your working hours to suit your needs and work from home too. It’s a very chilled out environment as long as you did your job. My manager was great, always pushed me to do well and took interest in my development with the company. Monthly meetings took place with the whole office where news would be shared across whole center and sometimes we would have speakers present to talk about their journey at AMS. Monthly star of the month would also be picked and given a little incentive.
Pros
Flexible working, buying extra holiday, working from home, personal development, opportunities to pick up extra tasks and learn
Cons
Maybe too secretive at times, and treating everything too secret from staff, Just be honest in the beginning instead of asking at last minute.
Don’t know what has happened to this company but In all my years here I have never experienced such poor, discriminatory treatment as I have in recent months. Handling of general performance management, recent furlough and redundancies by middle and senior management was shocking and disappointing. Decisions massively biased, in most cases management structures have remained keeping them safe, whist large amount of operational staff are let go. You have to question who is agreeing to these reverse pyramid structures which is only going to lead to operational staff on the ground burning out. Highly political environments where decisions are not made on merit but who you get on with and don’t challenge. Current big “focus” on de&i and wellbeing is disingenuous to say the least. They are Getting staff to talk on these matters but It’s all a bit safe, painting AMS in a good light and supportive when in real life situations they don’t want to know.
Pros
Salary and benefits excellent, big client names
Cons
Inexperienced middle and senior managers, cronyism, biased and discriminatory decisions, no consequences unless you pursue legally, Ineffectual and insincere leadership, promote the company as being open and inclusive, in reality don’t want to deal with related issues raised.
Typically very positive however middle management enjoyed a gossip and acted unprofessional on several occasions, promotions for friends etc. as opposed to well performing staff. Excellent company generally but room for improvement.
A strong work from home culture in many areas of the business connected to responsibility and accountability for your work. Collaborative environment, honesty and supportive attitude seen as important to deliver projects and expand knowledge. Management is generally supportive but business pressures remain so there is crunch points. Hardest part of the job is managing across different geographies, countries and cultures. The most enjoyable part of the job was the variety of clients and challenges you get to work on.
I have found the experience working with AMS to be positive from interview to becoming operational in my role. I would recommend to any of my contacts.
you will benefit from the training and experience in a 360 degree recruitment role. The skills that you will develop you cannot buy. Diligent, hardworking and determined individuals will reap rewards
Pros
Flexibility of working
Cons
Can be very challenging at times with the level of complexity
Horrendously overworked, underpaid, have it recognised and then promised the world to rectify and nothing happened. Stressed & went off for 4 weeks only to come back & be told that sickness policy had been changed & I was being penalised Financially for taking time out. Admin account onsite, please avoid the heartache.
I worked with some great people both on site and at head office at AMS. It is a great culture and will offer great exposure. The opportunity to move accounts and the support you receive is also a positive.
AMS values your expertise and in reward treats you as an adult. It's not about hours and being seen, its about output and performance. The company truly wants to do their best for the clients and will often go above and beyond to delight. The culture supports remote working, is family friendly and there is always support if you need it. The success and continued growth is well deserved.
Pros
Flexibility, training, salary and benefits
Cons
Hard to network remotely
Jobs at AMS
very busy and fast paced but fun workplace. every day is a leaning curve when dealing with the public sector. managers are helpful and assist in every way. company strive for a stress free environment and believe in good mental health. the hardest part of the job is to stick to the working hours due to busy and fast paced job but being in the office with my colleagues makes the job enjoyable.
Pros
working from home
Cons
past paced long hours
Always worked with excellent people within AM and would happily return. Having worked within an office environment and remotely i still have experienced a great team spirit. The roles have always been interesting and AMS truly focus on the continual development of their employees.
Pros
Flexible Working
Cons
Very limited part time opportunities
Great culture and a very grown up way of working, with a very forward thinking approach to remote working and partnership with their client base. Would highly recommend them
ok company however working for them in Northampton no help from the company managing realistic training, no flexibility was offered as advertised by a client manager in Northampton quiet frankly some of the clients these guys have a habit of going through contract staff like they are easily replaceable as opposed to supporting them or filling in the gaps . if your gonna take a contract on with these guys I wouldnt move as you will have no job security really.
Working in contingency workforce solutions, volume recruitment. A lot of calls to make sometimes feels like working in a call center. Roles are often put on hold or canceled.
The admin side is easy enough, stable hours, you always know what to expect. There were a lot of issues with the internal systems, and no one seems to care about fixing those issues - making an easy job suddenly very difficult.
Pros
Good kitchen
Cons
Software issues
Good career development
Great culture.
Work from home.
Company expectation is manageable.
Work life balance excellent.
Good management support and feedback.
Large company but really empowering and have entrepreneurial spirit, with a disruptive business model and a strong management team that really focused on delivery
need to work above and beyond in terms of hours to try and keep head above water with very little reward for the extra miles you go to. could do with hiring more staff which would solve the problem and relive the workload of the team but they seem reluctant to do so
nice working culture, flexible approach, lots of internal opportunities, fast paced environment, good on-line training provided, tight deadlines, target, KPI's driven working place
