It was okay.
Data entry clerk/delivery driver (Former Employee) - Plymouth - 16 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Getting paid. I can’t think of anything else I enjoyed about working for them. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Trying to communicate with them to no avail. It is like talking to a brick wall. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It was toxic, having to work for them. A toxic culture. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Okay, at best. They don’t really care about their employees.

Productive
Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 22 August 2023
They only book selected people to come to work, not much schedules. Most of the time you are standing and walking depending what area you're assigned to

Good place to work
Parcel Sorter (Former Employee) - Severn Beach, Gloucestershire - 12 August 2023
Nice relaxed place to work depending on shift pattern, friendly people to work with. Weekends are particularly nice to work here. Decent pay rates one downside to this job is lack of shifts you’re not garuanteed work every week. Other than that I Enjoyed working here.

Angard agents play the role of God
Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 19 June 2023
Angard frustrates me most of the time. The agents who allocate shifts have their own agendas and play with you as they feel fit. They never answer to your messages. They are too busy with themselves. If they cancel your shift they would sometimes put the reason for cancelling ' worker cancelled' which is absolutely not true. They are lying. The work itself at the Mail centre is easy and I like it but it is extremely difficult to get shifts. There are Angard staff who are consistently getting shifts and the others barely anything, so no fair allocation of the shifts. Royal mail staff do not like Angard staff and there is very noticeable friction, starting from the reception table at night time shifts. For some reason, Royal Mail staff are jealous of Angard and don't want to work with them. Royal Mail staff deliberately segregate themselves away from Angard. There is very unhealthy atmosphere at the workplace. Every Angard staff can clearly feel they are not wanted there. I stick to this company because it fits around my family, its very flexible but this job is only to have a little top up of your other income.
Pros
Flexible, good pay, pays on time.
Cons
Unreliable, unhealthy workplace, biased agents.

Would be fine if shifts organised better
Casual Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Gateshead-on-Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 31 May 2023
Don't really understand why you could be booked and confirmed on a shift a week in advance, however 6 hours before the shift it is cancelled, yet in another hour you get an email to confirm if you want to work the same shift they have just cancelled. You confirm you want to work then hear nothing back, it's now happened 3 times. Getting emails at 02:30 am asking to work at 3 am, which in itself is an awful shift yet it takes 35 mins to travel in to work
Pros
So flexible, as you don't get any shifts
Cons
No shifts

Not the worst
Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 28 May 2023
Good pay after a year but shifts are few and far between throughout the year. Also getting told about a shift 20 mins before due to start is no use but happens alot.

Stay away
Casual Mail Sorter (Former Employee) - Leeds City Centre, West Yorkshire - 22 May 2023
They keep you on their books after you leave and pay you 0.00 each week which affects your tax so be careful everyone. I've tried to sort it out for months now and they just keep saying the same thing that it sorted and it never is.

Enjoyable work but very inconsistent shift allocation
Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Leeds - 23 February 2023
Good rate of pay after 13 weeks but shift allocation is very inconsistent. I haven’t worked for 7 weeks so looking for something else. Some RM staff are really nice and welcoming, others are definitely not!
Pros
Paid breaks after 13 weeks
Cons
No regular shifts, can go many weeks without a shift.

Lack of organisation by managers and no teamwork
Mail Sorter (Former Employee) - Langley - 18 January 2023
No organisation, shift managers no idea how to run shifts efficiently. Availability set on company scheduling app but offered shifts that not available for every week, so havent worked for nearly 2 months Decided enough was enough and left, as need to be working due to the cost of living crisis rather than sitting at home hoping that phone may beep with a 1 off shift where someone else has not turned up. I live just around the corner from site so can see what is happening most days and see the same angard people most days arriving for work even though there seems to be no shifts available going by no shifts being booked for me so seems favaourism is happening
Pros
Pay are above average after 13 weeks probation period
Cons
Favouritism, bad managers, staff at company we go to expect us to do all the work while thy take breaks all the time

Complete waste of time
Royal Mail (Current Employee) - Preston, Lancashire - 15 November 2022
Complete waste of time. Shifts aren't allocated. Sit with your phone in your hand awaiting shifts. Sometimes cancel an hour before shift starts. Extremely rude staff and management. Avoid this company.

Awful company
Mail Sorter (Former Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 12 November 2022
This is about Angard staffing and the role generally, rather than a specific location. You could not come across a ruder company, the staff at Angard treat you with zero respect, don’t expect to be helped if there’s an issue. However, when actually on site most people are pleasant. The work itself was fairly mundane, you also get moved around to different departments without a clear explanation as to what’s going on. I was lucky that I didn’t actually need this job, I only did it on and off during the pandemic for something to do, if I had been reliant on the income I think I’d have had a mental breakdown.

Not sustainable at all
Casual Worker (Current Employee) - Nottingham - 1 November 2022
It’s actually easier to get a GP appointment these days than to get a shift with Angard. They send an email approximately 1-2 hours before the start of a shift asking people who are available to reply. You can reply within a minute & will still not receive the shift. It’s not a sustainable way to earn a living & you’ll be lucky to get a shift a week, even at Christmas. The registration process took a month and required the same forms of ID to be checked four times. The actual experience on shift is okay, the Royal Mail staff are friendly and the job is simple and doable. Angard on the other hand are a nightmare!
Pros
None
Cons
Impossible to get a shift. Unreliable.

Uncomplicated
Casual Mail Sorter (Current Employee) - Warrington - 31 August 2022
Well paid after 12 weeks, but no guaranteed hours. Better as supplement to other employment. Hard work not always recognised. You can choose when to be available, but no guaranteed hours makes it impossible as your sole source of income.

Stress of a 0 hour contract
Casual Mail Sorter (Former Employee) - Peterborough - 17 August 2022
I did not like not knowing when I would be working until the day when I would get a text and then have to rush to phone and book the shift, it is stressful
