Great place extra income
As per the summary I work here as freelance Social Media and search engine evaluator. This is a job for people who want flexible hours and earn little extra income.

Unreliable hours and severe lack of communication
This is OK to earn extra money but you can't depend on it. One month you can earn £1200 and the next month £150. Any issues with tech takes days to fix sometimes, communication is poor and can sometimes take weeks when pay discrepencies occur and then they just let people go with no warning. Competition for projects is extremely high with most having months of waiting before you can apply and then the guidelines are vague and confusing and the exams often have issues. It can be done but can be extremely frustrating and sometimes lots of exam opportunities come in and you have to study the guidelines before the exams which you are not paid for and is then difficult to reach your minimum hours on your other projects and then sometimes you can go weeks with nothing.

This company will burn you out. Long hours, low salary, avoid
Appen had a great managerial structure at the beginning of the year. However, due to certain changes the structure of the company changed for the worse. There was a lack of support when managing projects, managers were not open with team members. Projects were not given equally within the team which resulted in long working hours and a lack of recognition. Within 3 months of joining four staff members left the company. If you are looking for a place for development this is not it. There were also elements of racial mentions from management.

Okay, I suppose
Every now and again sporadically there are opportunities. Sometimes there are a lot of glitches in the software which can be quite frustrating and time consuming.

Great if you manage to get a project
If you’re looking for stability, it’s definitely not for you. Projects may finish unexpectedly and you’ll lose your source of income. Quite hard to find a long-term project, and you’ll usually have to wait for a while to get a response.I really enjoy the freedom that working at Appen gives me. I can work any time and whenever I want. So if you’re someone who doesn’t like fixed schedules, definitely go for it! Creative freedom is also very important to me, and that’s what Appen is really good at providing. Most of the time I feel like my own boss. The workload is usually below average, so there is a lower chance of a burnout. And it’s much easier to get a week off if you notify your project manager that you’re not available. Plus, there is no need to socialise, which is a huge win for me. I would give it a try for sure and see if it’s for me or not.
