Nice

A toxic work culture is a company environment dominated by practices, policies and management styles that perpetuate unhealthy habits and conflicts among team members. It can be harmful to employees, preventing them from being productive and growing professionally.

Productive and fun workplace

The job is repetitive but the colleagues are nice and helpful. Started off with no training so a bit stressful. Some employees don’t follow the rules and they seem okay. The customers are nice and understanding since most of them are elderly. Overall it was okay.

Avoid Asda Warehouse

- target is way to high (1808) , doesn' t matter if you are women or men- they will tell you on the start about de breaks, 1 of 30 min and 2 of 10 min but is not true- no support from the managers, they don t even say "hello" or "well done" - 80% of the times you will have problems with the payment -many more, feel free to discover yourselfMoney are good and colleagues are nice.

Pros

Money

Cons

Not safety for your life

Horrendous

Some staff are incredibly immature and impossible to work with. Management are all on a power trip and genuinely detest their employees. Managers have no care for how employees feel: if they're being abused by customers, they'll take the customer's side every time. Some managers are really immature too, and take constructive criticism as a personal attack.

Great work culture

Management here is excellent. Really enjoyed the variety within the role, sometimes working on tills, sometimes kiosk, sometimes self checkouts. Colleagues are A*, everyone supports each other as a matter of course.

Decent enough

OK to work for, didnt suit me personally. There are no real benefits to working here, you just go in do your job and leave but its not very satisfying.

Christmas temp

I really enjoyed my time at Asda, I worked as a Christmas temp and was on the checkouts and self scan. I felt like I was appreciated and everyone was really friendly. They was really trying to push me to do my best. Even during the Christmas rush I didn’t feel pressured to be quick as you can only do so much when on the checkouts.

Pros

Flexible hours

No productive/ stressful situations

Numerous trays of waste that is weeks old left in backups cause you have to stick to a budget and then are asked to clear it if which is a serious health and safety risk , no tools to do the job , labels guns printers ect , poor rotation creating more work/ more waste and nothing is done about it , when asking a manager to sort it for you they will say it is going to be sorted and it is not the overall experience at Asda is a very poorly run business losing hundreds of thousands of pounds and as a colleague makes me ashamed to be part of the company.

Pros

Discount

Cons

Unsociable hours

Decent

Decent job to have for a student, pay is good, management was good. But restrictive with hours. It is hard to move departments so got draining towards the end

Going to the dogs

Constantly cutting hours, makes the job physically impossible, even customers complaining because there is no staff in. Getting to the point where there will be more stock in the back than on the shelves!!!

Management couldn't run a bath

Asda rhyl..Management all two faced. Treat you like dirt. Backstabbers 2 faced . They have their favourites : the lazy ones who dictate what runs they want. Revolving door. They cannot find staff to do afternoon / lates as its dark at 4 and all out of the way addresses with apalling so called sat navs. The good drivers were either sacked or quit. They reap what they sow . Never work for asda.

Pros

None

Cons

Management need sacking.

Delivery drivers under paid for work they do!!

The delivery drivers are severely under appreciated and under paid at asda. The security, till staff, and pickers receive the same pay as drivers but do minimal work in comparison. Drivers are expected to load up the van and then drive all over, having to tackle top floor flats with 8 totes of shopping requiring 2-3 trips (which can be anywhere between 50-60 stairs per trip). Once you've finished your first run you then go back empty the van and repeat the process again for your second load in your 8 hour shift (if you haven't been hassled to do a double), after a first load of anywhere between 300-500 kgs. Asda should really re-evaluate the pay structure considering some staff are being paid the same money for 8 hours doing nothing!!

Pros

Good team mates in the delivery department

Cons

Underpaid, poor management

Fast & very physical

Ridiculous pick rate targets, on your feet & heaving heavy weights around all shift. Massive trolleys & not enough working equipment to do the job how they expect. Colleagues are nice though.

Terrible management

The people I worked with were nice but the management was absolutely terrible. I wasn't paid and they didn't care then were shocked when i said im not working if im not being paid. You get a warning for not wearing the right uniform even though you haven't been issued any. By far the worst job I've ever had all because of the management (one person inpaticular who shouldn't be anywhere near a management role) it's no surprise people are leaving.

Pros

Nice work colleagues

Cons

Bad management, bad pay

My experience was very bad.

What is the best part of working at the company?Unfortunately I did not enjoy working there. Nobody was interested in giving training. They are sweet on your face and talk bad behind your back. My salary was calculated wrong and I was underpaid. I won't recommend. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?I got no feeling of working as a team. You work alone in night shifts with very little or no support. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Your seniors may lie and you won't get a chance to prove it because if you try it will go against you. Not a place for me to work again. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Very busy and hectic. You may have to do alot of physical work if you are doing shelf filling job. You may not be provided a stool to fill higher shelves. You may be asked to carry heavy products by hand to move inplace of using a shopping trolley. Your innovative ideas may not have any value for them.
