Awful

Honestly the best thing is the pay all the staff are rude they pick on you and bully you. If your young like me and want a social life then don’t do nights at asda. They expect you to be on par with them in a month they also use there power trip on you. Don’t go unless you need money then leave in a month

Pros

Few staff members are nice

Cons

Managers and sone staff are horrible, no life

Basic

Can be a good place to work depending on management. Just be prepared you have to work weekend and there is ifs and buts unless you are a favourite. Breaks are not paid anymore, asda just care about the money unfortunately. No really good initiatives to keep people motivated. Stayed at asda 10years, tried to progress and didn’t get picked as I didn’t look the part and was too friendly.

Terrible management

They treat you as just another human to do the dirty work, I’m on checkouts and they watch over you like hawks only to come and tell you you’re not working. They are rude and disrespectful towards colleagues for no reason. My advice is to work here as a last resort I’m only here for a short time before I find somewhere else.

Horrifically mismanaged

From the top down, this company is mismanaged. Nearly every single colleague, and even customers can see that Asda is being run into the ground.Managers and section leaders are selected based on essentially a popularity contest. And none of them seem to be up to the task.A large amount of colleagues are allowed to wander about looking at their phones, while completely ignoring their job responsibilities. This means that if you're a focussed individual, you will be left to pick up the slack and take the fall when things go wrong.Personally, I'd avoid the place like the plague if you can

Cons

Horrible job

The management do not care as long as they get the praise. When it’s good praise it’s their hard work who’s making a difference, when it’s bad feedback it’s always the colleagues fault.

Pros

10% discount was good

Cons

Management clueless. No one cares.

Not the best place to work.

Have been here nearly 17 years. Over the last 10 years has gone downhill. Colleagues who have left are not replaced. More work is expected now with less colleagues.

Great

Great place to work, not high pressure and relatively casual place to work. Relatively good pay standards for the type of work and employment. Managers are always friendly.

Fun but not worth the stress

Love the job and the people but when management were too busy reacting to the day instead of planning for the future it meant that if you were willing to work overtime you had to sacrifice being able to plan your own life due to rotas not being completed until the night before they were due to begin

Pros

Great colleagues

Cons

Lack of notice on rota if willing to work overtime.

Stressful at times but fun

The managers weren’t always the best but your colleagues make up for it. Some days are busier than others with a heavy workload but overall a good place to work. Flexible with shifts too

Okay. Just okay

It is just okay. Do your best get your money and go home. Come back the next shift, work get your money and go home. Laugh and have fun while at work.

Mediocre

Had worse jobs. Had better. Cliques throughout the staffing and everything is good if your face fits. Get moved to all different departments with no notice

Pros

Staff discount

Cons

Contacted hours are low

Will affect your mental health..

DONT even apply to this ASDA store. if you are a student this can be a great job for some extra cash during seasonal times however if you're looking for a permanent job, don't bother. members of management have no leadership experience and favourited members of staff get promoted higher with no experience. you don't get treated fairly. there is always drama within colleagues and management. place is managed awfully and no matter how stressful or understaffed they are, they will refuse to hire more people. instead, you will get called on your days off to go in and help or get asked to stay later on. there is absolutely no professionalism within this store so don't waste your time.

Pros

discount card

Cons

management

Hard Working and tough

a typical day would be just bringing stuff down from the top stock or bringing it out from the back and putting it on the shelves and rumbling the shelves, learned about the pick and binning in, management was okay but sometimes a bit naggy, and workplace culture was okay, hardest part of the job was always getting rushed with your work and the most enjoyable part about the job was to meet new work colleagues and have a laugh and help the customers with anything
