Don't do it

Indeed featured review

Poor terms and conditions. Bad work life balance. New contract laughable. I felt undermined, not valued and is the reason i am leaving. I had enough of not getting anywhere.

Toxic

I worked there for a number of years, the job was great under the old managment.. since the new port director took over the job has taken a turn for the worst, he has brought in a stupid "humber contract" which gives them control of your life, 2 days off a month, can work a full week of nights and no incentive. The under managers have no managment skills, port manager is a bully, and the newly appointed operations manager is a proper lier out to feather his own nest. Avoid at all cost... u have been warned!

Pros

Pension

Cons

Too many unexperienced men on low wages.

Stressful

No work life balance, have to wait for a text every day to tell what shift you're on the following day, can sometimes end up doing a full week of nights, new terminal layout is tighter and unsafe, if you get something wrong the older dockers will be moaning about you all shift (not allowed to make a mistake and learn from it Anymore) ABP stands for All Bull**** Promises or All 'Bout Production or All 'Bout Profit noawdays, they don't care about their employees

Pros

Decent salary when you get trained up on kit. Can sometimes work with a decent gang

Cons

long hours, no work life balance

Full of lies

Humber contact what an absolute joke. Promote work life balance. Then when you sign. Not aloud to plan anything on days off incase they need you in. Work 7 nights one day off then put you back on shift on days for another amount of shifts. one weekend off a month. Lied about training and pay increases. Don't know where you are as you get told next week shifts every Thursday

Pros

Decent colleges. decent breaks. Pool table

Cons

Where do I start!! Breathing in biomass dust causes cancer

Poor working conditions and terrible management

the company is managed by people who have not worked any where else and so are not willing to move with the times, due to this the site is run very dangerously.

Pros

none

Cons

poor management, no perks for being on shifts

Interesting plant and machinery

Under-staffed for engineering/maintenance. Compex training for COMAH site. Management not in tune with engineers. Co-workers most are solid workers. Permit duties are not given the focus they deserve. Resolving breakdowns is good.

Pros

health care, pension

Cons

long hours, extra days for no extra pay
