Good pay good culture bad management
Production Operative (Former Employee) - St. Athan, Vale of Glamorgan - 30 October 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedPay was excellent the hours wasn’t bad but management was poor. Often young inexperienced staff bumped up to group leader positions due to being favourites then causing upset to good staff because of zero management skills. Wouldn’t work there again. Gave us a huge pay rise in January then laid 100 people off in February. Poorly ran company.

Good Company
Manufacturing Engineer (Former Employee) - Gaydon, Warwickshire - 23 August 2023
Overall a good company to work for. Focus on personal development and rewarding building great cars. With drop in volume, staff positions were cut and there was not enough staff to do all work required,

Abysmal management, avoid avoid avoid
Manufacturing Engineer (Current Employee) - St. Athan, Vale of Glamorgan - 14 August 2023
Abysmal management, false promises, double standards. Staff treated like dirt. Managers and HR do not respect confidentiality, be prepared to have your personal circumstances conveyed to the factory if approaching the HR department with an issue, keith in particular is extremely manipulative and unprofessional. Avoid avoid avoid.
Pros
Pay

Lack of progression and overall improvement of workforce
Build Technician (Former Employee) - Gaydon - 3 July 2023
Aston Martin lacks progression opportunities for employee’s. problems on workshop and re-work on 40% + vehicle’s monthly. Lack of management leadership, including overworking employees because of poor management and machine failure from lack of maintenance or immediate attention to problems on shop floor.
Cons
Long hours, poor management and maintenance, lack of progression

Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - St. Athan, Vale of Glamorgan - 1 July 2023
Really enjoyed my time there. Good place with lots of facilities. Alright management. Hard location to get to if you don't have access to a car or bike.

Sales
Sales (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 19 May 2023
Aston Martin is definitely a place where you'd want to work. Good people, great cars and even better sandwiches in the canteen. Thus endeth the story. Or doth it? Well perhaps one more thing - that V12 is truly a thing of beauty.

Lead Technician (Former Employee) - St. Athan, Vale of Glamorgan - 4 March 2023
A great company to work for. I left for personal reasons, but how I miss this company. Supported fully by the management, and given chances to developing progress.

Great working environment, very relaxed and everyone gets along well. The money is good for what you do. Only cons are the work is repetitive and you need to be ok with working shifts

Relentless
Group Leader (Former Employee) - Gaydon, Warwickshire - 8 August 2022
If you have the right support you'll enjoy working at AML. It's never ending work, and you'll need to be fit to keep up. If your manager is poor, so will your prospects be. You won't be able to move, unless can demonstrate a good business case.
Pros
Excellent canteen, some great people.
Cons
Do what I say.

A great place to work, I'd highly recommend it.
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Gaydon, Warwickshire - 18 July 2022
I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at Aston Martin. Ther's a strong culture of team work and it's a place that really focuses on delivering for the customer. Working conditions are good both in the offices and on the production line. Senior Management Team is dedicated to delivering outstanding product quality. Being a small automotive player you'll have the opportunity to get involved in all sorts of projects, sometimes outside of your core role which keeps the job intersting.

No Good HR policies
PAT Leader (Vehicle Crash Safety Attribute Leader) (Current Employee) - Gaydon - 11 December 2021
HR dont have any control over people management activities. No checking of the employee in terms of his or her career development. No policy for internal job change if some person is doing one job for many year. He or she has to find own way to look for internal job change which is obviously political in nature.
Pros
Real Product development experience, High Efficient people
Cons
HR policies are name sake when it comes to employee development.

Fast paced & stressful work, but great people
Manager (Current Employee) - Gaydon, Warwickshire - 5 December 2021
Aston Martin is a long standing company which still behaves in many ways like a start up, everyone has more work than it is possible to complete in the targeted time, but due to everyone being in the same boat, it leaves a level of comraderie. The work itself is fulfill and exciting, and the accessibility to talk to senior management has improved dramatically over the last 2 years. Unfortunately, Astons internal HR policies do mean that salary growth is limited for those that stay for years of internal progression. The benefits are relatively good, 12% company contribution for salary after 2 years, mercedes scheme from grade 8, and managers get PSA management vehicles, health shield plan gives cash back on dental and opticians, health insurance & death in service package too.
Pros
Great people, interesting work, opportunity for progression in certain departments, great benefits
Cons
Huge workload, un competitive pay for internal progression Vs unknown external hires
