Do not work here if you think going to the toilet is a basic human right
If you like standing in the cold for more than 3 hours at a time doing the same boring thing this is the job for you. Whilst getting shouted at by supervisors who have never done the job themsleves, who sit in the office most of the day. Relatively minor discrepancies, talking, getting phone out of pocket, being late back from break due to no fault of your own, not keeping to the target pack amount due to bad meat, will land you in trouble if you are a line worker. Whereas if you are one of the priveleged few (line manager, shift manager etc) you will get away with far more serious stuff, and even get a promotion for it sometimes! Once you are in the management, you are untouchable! The canteen is a 5 minute walk there, and back so your break is usually 5 to 10 minutes by the time you have taken all your ppe off. Finally if you like being talked down to and shouted at all day this could be the job for you.
Line Operative in Hereford, Herefordshire
Management incompetence and unprofessional
People skills are required when your a manager, in avara there sadly lacking as management are all about themselves and making sure responsibility lies with the operative, too many of them comfortable with there feet under a desk for majority of shift and certain shift managers hide behind there team leaders no matter what the problem, very poor attitude towards floor staff and no wonder they can't employ anybody even in the current situation of higher unemployment, speaks volumes and tells any potential job seeker all they need to know.Atmosphere on shop floor is toxic, acrimonious and antagonistic due to more work being shoved on to current employees and management with no answers to basic problems, it's all pass the buck. They operate a refer a friend idea but I wouldn't do that to my friends as I value there friendship. In the current climate I don't see anything changing so wouldn't recommend avara to anyone unless they enjoy being treated like a doormat.Workplace culture is very tribal so what ever the race of the shift manager will have a knock on effect depending on where your from.In short wouldn't recommend this place to my own worst enemy.

Dispatch Operative in Newent
It's very stressful
It is a stressful job and they do not pay enough for this kind of job you do and if they got a chance they will take even 1 penny. They don't like to keep good people at work, just hire new people because they don't complain.
