Fun workplace
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Bedford - 2 November 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by Indeed It waa a good place to work a bit heavy lifting when picking on llop but nothing you can't do , the bad thing is they had some unachievable targets and doesn't matter how much you wa trying it was hard to achieve ... If your target was low you was getting automatically laid off

Productive and fun place to work
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 28 July 2022
Place is really good but with the cost of living in 2022 a warehouse job isn’t enough. They pay £10 a hour their minimum wage needs to increase otherwise people will give up on warehouse jobs but overall it’s a good job just bad pay.

hard physical work
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 9 June 2022
hard work for minimum wage. lots of heavy lifting, pushing people to their limits, unless the have a connection in office. usually no contract as you work for agency. no contracted hours so they can send you home whenever they want.

Chilled-out and productive work environment.
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Runcorn, Cheshire - 11 April 2022
A typical day at work is quite easy but also productive. I have learnt quite a few new skills here such as how to pick, LLOP driving, stacking and many more. The management is kind and approachable. Everyone is the workplace is good to be around and you can have a good laugh. The hardest part of the job is probably stacking as you need a decent amount of practice to get the hang of it. The most enjoyable part of the job is probably the relaxed environment.
Pros
Decent pay Relaxed Enjoyable Easy Can be fun Approachable staff/management
Cons
Physical work can cause strain Repetitive Can become quite boring at times

Typical day is good, very target based job and lots of bonuses and incentives for hitting targets.
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 23 December 2021
Typical day is good, very target based job and lots of bonuses and incentives for hitting targets I like that the job allows you to work independently and the managers aren't looking over your shoulder. The hardest part of job is very often in off peak periods, it is hard to hit pick targets as lack of work available.
Pros
Managers are available and always approachable You dont need to book holidays with a month notice
Cons
Rotational working shifts, would be good to have a set shift every week# wrap machine constantly broken

Fun and fast paced place to work out however payment issues
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 21 December 2021
As a picker your typical day consists of just picking boxes loading them on to the pallet then wrapping , a simple task however the high expectations of b&m assure you are still working to the best of your capability only downside is that I've been underpaid more times then i was paid fairly
Pros
good pay friendly management
Cons
no sick pay likely to be underpaid

Easy site to work.
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 17 December 2021
Working here can be more easy if you fix all the small problems that can happen during the shift. I learned about warehouse work more than before. Working as a picker can be easy if you get all the support.
Pros
Good hours but the swap shifts should be 2 in 2 weeks instead every week
Cons
Needs more attention to the employees and more training to some managers.

B&M worker
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - Wilhamstead, Bedfordshire - 14 December 2021
At B&M a typical day for me is quite strait forward and easy. I have not really learn a lot as such except how to to do the job. Management are easy to talk to and get on with. The hardest part of the job is lifting heavy boxes but you don't really need worry to much about that as you will find someone to help you. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to know other people.
Pros
A good bunch of people to work with and a 10% discount card to use at B&M.
Cons
sometimes working at times of the day when most people are at home not working

Positive however Tiring
Picker/Packer/Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 14 December 2021
My typical day at the Fort can be very busy and tiring due to having to do rotational shift patterns instead of fixed. There is a lot of opportunities at B&M and I have learnt a lot of different skills. The atmosphere is very positive here at B&M and there is many people willing to help and support each other.
Pros
A lot of opportunities and different paths to go down, Overtime available, People willing to help a lot.
Cons
No sick pay, Non-stop days, Reward scheme only temporary.

Picker/Packer/Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - qube liverpool dc - 13 September 2021
a typical day or night shift is never the same working on one of the many exciting job roles.you are trained to the highest of standards from picking, health and safety mhe training also training on other departments.my time in b and m ive learned many skills from pick training, pick buddy, first aid course ,ipaf course.workplace culture is good with members of staff from many areas of the world who collectively together makes up our team and secures the shift process runs smoothly.management are fair and leanient and very approachable.the hardest part of the job i think is learning to pick but with anything practice makes perfect.any problems you may have are dealt with managers.the most enjoyable part of the job is finishing for the weekend and get some well earnt rest with family and friends.
Pros
staff discount, outstanding training, chance to progress
Cons
long hours

Busy and expect hard work
Picker and Packer (Former Employee) - London - 18 August 2021
They do not have an efficient system they use old voice pickers that delay ur work time then you get in trouble if you’re delayed because their equipment is faulty. They over work you and over stress you even on your first week they are not professional and rude and they will swear and threaten to fire you if you don’t work faster. Don’t bother breaking your back for a company that do not value you. I got payed only a a1/3 of my pay after working hard I had to chase them up. Very poorly run warehouse 👎🏼
Pros
Cheap canteen food
Cons
Short breaks, stressful hard work and bad work environment
