Technician (Former Employee) - Rainham, Greater London - 24 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedPeople are ok to work with; Supervisors keen to help; Technicians ok to work with. Not a perfect job it does come with is problems but am sure they are moving in the right direction. Overall not a bad job to have.

Time to move on with the times
Contract Site Manager (Current Employee) - Rosyth, Fife - 26 May 2022
Good but they need to expand meaning move away from the old dock yard mentality, meaning taking forever to do things and make resistive decisions , the money wasted is extraordinarily they usual British old works ways , they days have gone for good !

Not set up or prepared for change. Last minute .com on most things and to many mixed messages.
Training Manager, South West (Former Employee) - South West - 22 May 2022
At ground level people are nice but even management and senior management silently agree it is poorly run as a business and company. Only in it for profit and not what they can do for the people they are training. Learners are just numbers and new ideas do not even get a reply.

Decent pay. Unfortunately nothing more positive
Nothing positive to say about working in this enviroment. Jobs for the boys culture. Company like to be seen to be caring and address employee issues but do not change the culture.

Babcock aerospace
Tanker Driver/Deputy Fuels Manager (Current Employee) - RAF Northolt - 7 May 2022
Low pay and job changes, additional duties added to your workload for no extra pay. Alot of responsibility for very low money, okay if your retired and not looking for a fair salary.

Excellent place to work
Survival Equipment Supervisor (Former Employee) - Linton-on-Ouse, North Yorkshire - 1 May 2022
I can only comment about the site / manager I worked with but he & the people I worked with were excellent- more like a family. Senior management only appear when they have to. Hands are tied for progression depending on trade. And if your face fits.
Pros
Work life balance good
Cons
Below average pay for similar jobs in sector

Supportive and empathetic
Business Improvement Project Manager (Former Employee) - Bristol - 30 April 2022
A very good employer with excellent work/life flexibility. Handled the challenges of Covid with remote working for all staff that could operate from home. Provided, and delivered, IT equipment to all that required it.

Useless and badly managed company stuck in time warp that has no interest in employees personal situations
Electrician(Approved) (Former Employee) - Plymouth, Devon - 26 April 2022
A company full of dinosaurs or phone staring youngsters with only interest in an easy day or retirement and redundant payments!I would not receive anymore with any amount of self worth or ability to even consider working for this shambles of a company
Pros
Little work ever get done
Cons
No overtime enhancement payment or proper worker rates

Great place to work but slow paced
Project Engineer (Current Employee) - Plymouth, Devon - 3 April 2022
Everything is slow as things take awhile to get approved so good if you don’t want a high pressure/stressful environment. Majority of people are super friendly and help to develop.
Pros
Company culture
Cons
Management / communication can be confusing

Jobs at Babcock International
Poor company, low salaries, bad organisational culture
Material Planner (Former Employee) - Bovington, Dorset - 23 March 2022
Unsupportive and unfair management. Your face has to fit in to be treated fairly. No training whatsoever unless you “know” or are related to some important managers in the company, so favouritism is the answer. No provision if you have a long term condition , total disregard for pregnancy and maternity rights. No gender equity, this is a “men’s world”.
Pros
Job stability if you do not care for pay increase or career progression
Cons
Low salary, toxic environment, unsupportive management

Stagnant workplace with little or no opportunities
Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) - Rosyth, Fife - 21 March 2022
Fast paced work with good people. Poor senior management a lot of the time with almost zero recognised external training. Promised a lot by management but rarely delivered
Pros
Flexible

A fine company with great benefits
Pipefitter (Former Employee) - Dunfermline - 19 March 2022
A major, industry leader with great benefits and job security. Advancement is certainly possible and the technology and training on site is always improving.

Nice team
Commercial Officer (Former Employee) - Bristol - 15 March 2022
Good place to work. I worked within the commercial team. However , coming from a finance background, I don’t think the job was for me. It suited someone that had a legal background particularly for the contract management side of the job.

Slow paced workshop
Vehicle Mechanic / Examiner (Former Employee) - Dorset - 11 March 2022
Very slow paced work. Management/work planning need improvement. Work/home life balance couldn’t be any better. Just need to take life a bit slower when you arrive for work. I would work there again

Miserable place to work
Project Engineer (Current Employee) - Rosyth - 10 March 2022
This place has destroyed my mental health, it’s very much if your face fits - but if you play golf you’ll go far! It’s not the workplace it was when the mod had the yard..Babcock have ruined it.

So much work for little pay and no benefits.
Regional trainer delivering retail and warehousing apprenticeships level 2 (Former Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 28 February 2022
Company is a KPI driven and managers protect their favourites. Always working well I’ve to try abs complete all tasks, admin is just crazy. Managers do not care about the learners experience or journey, just hitting the KPI’s that no staff receive any benefits for.
Pros
Manage your own hours
Cons
Hours, no benefits, manager unprofessional

Low pay for industry
Aircraft Engineer (Former Employee) - Anglesey - 21 February 2022
Depth work is slow paced and more relaxed. Rectification work is more faced paced. Pay for industry is good on T2 but we’ll below par on T1. Management approachable, but tend turn a blind eye when it suits
Pros
T2 4 on 4 off and reasonable pay T1 4 on 3 off
Cons
Low pay for T1 personnel

Good company with lots of opportunities for progression. Forward thinking and supportive. Great systems and processes which aid in data for decision making.

Good engineers and a fun atmosphere
Mechanical Fitter (Former Employee) - Faslane, Argyll and Bute - 24 January 2022
Long travel but enjoyable work on important systems. Plenty of support from above. Free parking and an on site physio and health suite to help out when needed

Disappointing
Electrical Fitter (Current Employee) - Walsall, West Midlands - 18 January 2022
No job progression, no incentive only if your face fits nothing but false hopes and promises, lack of communication, can't wait to leave, lots of bullying for supervisors on average 6-8 people leaving per week
Pros
Hours not to bad
Cons
False hopes and promises
