Faced paced, unrealistic expectations
Second Chef (Former Employee) - Wimbledon, Greater London - 13 October 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe workload is horrendous for a chef, the menu is extensive with various different choices, they are mostly short staffed, staff retention is extremely poor. The management expects wonders when the time and resources are short. You feel stressed and exhausted as the workload is never ending. Summers are the worst to work in their kitchen. Temperature soars to about 50 c in peak summer, there is Bain Marie releasing lots of steam and heat, powerful gas burners, no ac in the kitchen, it is extremely difficult to work in such an overheated kitchen. The shifts can be lengthy with lots of running around, multi-tasking. Management is difficult to please. You feel over worked and undervalued.
Pros
Good pay rates and benefits
Cons
long working hours, work over load, work pressure

Horrible work place
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Workington - 9 March 2023
Not only are the staff rude and disrespectful to residents and family members. Staff are lazy and care about themselves more than looking after residents. There is only a couple of staff that were brilliant. Units could be managed a lot better. Some concerns were raised several times and nothing was done about it. It's a very stressful place to work especially because you want the best for the people you care for and it seems noone wants to help you. Most staff aren't friendly and prefer to sit rather than do the actual care job.
Pros
Better pay
Cons
Hassled alot to work extra

Free lunch and can always make yourself a drink

very bad company to work at
Senior Nurse (Former Employee) - Essex - 26 January 2023
worked here for 3 years and it was a nightmare. they only care about the money they get but the quality of care that residents get do not equal with the amount they are paying. managers are hiding problems from the family and they only care about being seen as good care providers.
Pros
good pay
Cons
stressful environment, carers do not work professionaly, managers only think of the money

Not enough pay for what is required
Maintenance Manager (Former Employee) - Essex - 28 November 2022
Pay low for what you need to do, budgets are too low to achieve what is required and don't have the tools for the job, and due to low budget unable to resolve issue quickly. Management seemed OK until leaving to which was given bad reference although no issues were ever brought up during time working there
Pros
Staff mostly pleasent
Cons
Long hours, lack of equipment

Productive fun place to work
Kitchen Assistant (Current Employee) - Newark-on-Trent - 13 November 2022
I have worked for this care company for only 8 months as a Kitchen assistant my previous job roles for30 + years have been as a professional nurse, senior carer and home carer 3 yrs for my Mum.This was a new unique experience for me but with the brilliant patience of my Chef boss I have learnt much within this role,it was unfortunate my health was against me.I felt fully supported by all.Training was mainly online I would have preferred a group approach to learning as I'm a people's person.Saying that online training package brill and is paid for all hrs spent doing it.Salary was good and never had any queries with payments thanks to efficiency of admin on site. HIGHLY RECOMMEND,WHAT YOU WAITING FOR,IM SURE YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Good place to work
Nurse (Former Employee) - Darlington, Durham - 8 October 2022
I have remained on the bank. The only reason I have left full time is that in current employment the benefits such as private health insurance, sick pay and other benefits are so good. I enjoyed working with the team and loved our residents. I worked on the unit with men that have some behaviour that challenges and I will miss them. That is why I'm remaining on the bank. The company is good and the pay is also very good for nursing staff.
