Administration

Not a good place to work. They weren't interested to keep you on. You just had to keep your head down and get on with it. HR was dismissive with my questions and wasn't interested..

Bad place to work managment aren't great

Management look to blame the workers for anything even if management are to blame and don't support you for anything unless your from eastern Europe they Also refuse your holidays

Pros

Money is good

Cons

Management long hours

Nightmare management

Management could not solve a problem had to Google it. From gritters to road repairs the chuckle brothers are far more experienced than these cowboys. Front line crews are the best in the business and at all times supporting those idiots in management keep there jobs. They lie to transport scotland on all occasions that myself and my friends worked for 5 years. Pay bad. Management arseholes. Trucks older than me. NEVER GO NEAR THEM IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.

Pros

Going home

Cons

Going to work

interesting for a psyhcologist to analyze

if you are not a enginner or more so chartered, your opinion will count for nothing, you will be looked down upon people think they are always better than you quite alot of condescending attitude to certain people who they believe know nothing about anything alot of arrogance and status attitude, almost narcissism sociopathic quick to blame the person at bottom they don't like criticism or issues being raised talk about please raise h&s issues, if you do, not amused, look for new job, they will make your life miserable alot of well meaning people who are nice and helpful, as normal a few spoil it for majority

Pros

set hours

Cons

all about how much they can scam money

Bear

If you like working with "Am better than you and better than them" and a team leader that's a bit of a bully and higher management that dont care this is the company for you. They want you to cut corners but if something happens bye bye you are. Watched all the time on tracker and make stuff up. if your mates with a team leader or higher management then your sound.

Pros

none

Cons

bullied watched all the time poor pay

Lots of Overtime

Very good company and the Best manager that I had so far. I was dealing mostly with maintenance schemes such as bridge deck refurbishments, bridge strengthening etc. from inception throughout complication and site supervision. Additionally I was conducting principal inspection on highway structure. However, most of my site supervision time or principal inspection was during night, in order not to affect the traffic. Thus, there was no balance between social life an work

Pros

very good environment

Cons

low salary, working during nightshifts

Good company

Interesting role with good people. Highways Maintenance and Infrastructure Management on Motorways and "A" class road in Scotland under direct contract to the Scottish Government, Regular interaction with external Contractors, Civils, Audit Scotland and Government Ministerial representatives. Tender work for major schemes a regular feature.
