It's alright.
It's alright, can be a bit boring but the wages are good and you feel well looked after. Shifts are long though and don't need to be, lots of people working in quieter times etc.Police Officer in Luton, Bedfordshire

Destructive and demeaning place to work.
The job by itself is enough to cause a huge strain on officers mental health, but this strain is amplified and worsened by the lack of support from management in regards to mental health. You are instead bullied, belittled and encouraged to accept that it’s just part of the job. There is no sense of belonging, you truly are just a number. You either commit your life to the job at the expense of your relationships and social life, or you let it destroy them anyway until you end up leaving. There is no healthy way to live any sort of life outside of work if you are to perform in the role as you’re expected to. ( I say leaving, more forced out). The juvenile drama amongst teams (and management) is not what you would expect in this institution. But you learn the hard way that you either accept it or you’ll be thrown under the bus for something or other. No amount of budget cuts or whatever else can justify the lack of support that’s available to officers/staff. Forget trying to leave everything at your home doorstep after a shift, the things you see and experience are bad enough (but that’s what you sign up for) but without the correct support that simply isn’t there, you’re left with no choice but to bottle up and become emotionless and robotic. 2 years in the job felt like 10. And now, a year since leaving and I still haven’t recovered mentally. No job is worth that. POLICE OFFICER in Bedford, Bedfordshire

Generally a good place to work
OK place to work, some really good people work there. Some days are great, some days are awful. Some great Management trying their best, but some awful management that don't know how to talk to people What would you say about your employer?
