Decent pay, you get free products, fun brand
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire - 8 October 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt is a fun brand to work for. However, it is quite draining because there’s an expectation to be high energy & full of life all the time! You get a good allocation of products. There’s a lot of pressure to hit unrealistic targets.

Don’t work there
Brow bar expert (Former Employee) - Boots london - 19 November 2023
The company has unrealistic expectations with low pay. They except so much and the pay is low. There are other make up companies with better pay and also in progressing

Awful management, blackmail culture for sales
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Woking, Surrey - 18 November 2023
Loved the products & job role, but pressure to make sales is ridiculous, managers visit you every month or more, felt spoken to like Im at school, made to feel never good enough, area manager constantly tried to install fear into me to make sales in a quiet store e.g. extended my probation during covid, too pushy not worth your mental health. Unfair treatment and favouritism.
Pros
Allocations
Cons
Not paid enough for services

Expectations are unrealistic
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 13 November 2023
They expect too much with no support Traffic stopping was the worst, being ignored by customers. You’re expected to go to different floors to grab customers to counter. If they wanted benefit, they would be at the counter.

Worked hard for little reward
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Yorkshire and Humberside - 1 November 2023
Great training but pressure was very high. Not consistent across different counters. Worked hard for little reward. Area Manager constantly contacting on days off not respectful. Pressure to sell products because it was new but not right for customer. Higher-ups had favourites and they would be fast tracked progression and rewards
Pros
Free products
Cons
High pressure, terrible management, little reward

not enjoyable
Beauty Consultant (Former Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 1 November 2023
would never recommend to work for the company ever again. Before covid it was an amazing company to work for but as so many people left as there was no progress the company went down hill! Head management are rude and very very unsupportive. They want your whole life to revolve around the company and that is it. constant pressure to meet unrealistic targets during certain seasons of the year and no communication.
Pros
the customers and the people on the counter you work with
Cons
management and no support

Very stressful for the wage
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne - 20 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good wages and allocation Good holiday allowance What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Too much pressure from managers to traffic stop people in the current financial situation monthly reviews with negativity from managers when targets aren't met What is the work environment and culture like at the company? very role play driven unrealistic situations somewhat false consultants Taking on young inexperienced girls as managers What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful as the counter was in a quiet store with not much footfall and the counter doesn't have a brow bar. So most of the customers in the town would go to the 2 surrounding stores with Brow bars.

Fun Place to Work
Brow Expert (Former Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 6 September 2023
I found this to be a fun place to work as a student whilst working part time, good allocation of products twice per year, decent pay and approachable management.

Jobs at Benefit Cosmetics
Awful company
Makeup Artist (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 28 July 2023
Would not recommend working for this company. The training was minimal, staff under oaid and if you had quiet days then management would be frightened of getting pulled up by district manager. Therefore, always a tense environment.

Expects a lot!
Business Manager (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 5 July 2023
Your face very much has to fit, brand has their favourites nobody else really gets recognised. Staff turnover was high, the level of enjoyable depends on the retailer your counter is in. Constant traffic stopping, no flexibility on how to conduct a service, some products outdated and not keeping up with market trends often compromising sales. Targets extremely high.

Sales executive
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 22 June 2023
Fun place to work Friendly staff and lots of training provided but targets can be tough and hard to reach sometimes in the more quieter months. Still a good atmosphere

Fun workplace
Receptionist (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 30 May 2023
Started working there, and was enjoying myself at first. Allot of the staff was leaving as I joined, but I didn't take much notice of it. Then quickly I realized why so many people had left. The pay is terrible, barley enough to cover my bills, the management are quick to blame everyone else, and they will be even quicker to replace you. The cars are nice, but they encourage you to work outside working ours with no overtime benefit, just "time back in liu". The process to sell a car and get delivered is a joke, where you need to chase every single person in the buisness just to make a car is ready for handover. They also fine you for anything you do, and everything, be it parking onsite, not sending an email, admin. Everything.

Bad Management
Brow and Beauty expert (Former Employee) - Fareham, Hampshire - 16 May 2023
Working as a counter BA for benefit sounded like fun until about 2 weeks in when the managers show their true sides and how they don’t care about your life or any issues you may be having. Expected to do counter manager work as a BA with no recognition or extra pay. Terrible communication throughout the business. Ridiculously high targets especially when working in a quiet store, it is not taken into consideration. All in all, would probably be an ok job for 1 day a week but nothing more!
Pros
In store staff to work with are lovely
Cons
Expected to do way over your workload with no appreciation for it

Fun place to work, sales heavy
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 12 May 2023
Very sales heavy and not a lot of support from higher management in terms of communication or helping with new starters. The store managers views often collide with the area mangers views too which was difficult to navigate and again, received no help from area manager about this.

stressful and high pressure.
Beauty and Brow Expert (Current Employee) - South UK - 12 May 2023
if you love creating a personality around your job this will be perfect. unless you are a BBA and then you are pressured with high unachievable targets when there is a recession going on, when middle management are in you feel like you are pushed to the brink of your sanity grabbing people from the shop floor and applying makeup on them when it’s not busy or walking round asking every living soul in the shop multiple times if they want a makeover which makes everyone uncomfortable.
Pros
free makeup and good immediate team
Cons
traffic stopping, high pressure, toxic positivity, out of touch with what is going on with the financial crisis

Fun work
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Scotland - 10 May 2023
Its really fun and you learn a lot about products and how to use them, however it's all sales based and a lot of forcing sales which can be very uncomfortable, lots of pressure to meet every target. Not a lot of support from higher management.

Nice and easy job
Manager (Former Employee) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire - 7 May 2023
Company was very supportive in terms of training and guidance. Found hard to adapt as line manager was constantly changing. Store manager wasn’t supportive and show big lack of people skills.

Awful place to work, Horrible environment
Counter Manager (Former Employee) - Derby, Derbyshire - 4 May 2023
Honestly I could write an entire paragraph but I’m not wasting any more of my time on this company so I’m going to keep it nice and simple. So degrading and you’re constantly put under pressure with targets. I work in a extremely quiet store and was told that if I dont hit my target within the next month I wont be passing my probation. Basically leaving me without a job, rather than supporting me I was told that “if you want another job or are thinking of another counter I’d happily be your reference” implying that I need to source another job. Personally where is the support in that. I instantly felt incapable of my job even though I know my worth. Constantly being targeted to hit targets, even on days off I was being contacted regarding counter. Overall the company is fab as I’ve worked with them on social media but on counter is a whole other ball game. Avoid at ALL COSTS!

Awful
Brow and beauty expert (Former Employee) - England - 19 April 2023
Extremely stressful environment no support, almost acting as if you are robotic and feel no emotions,Was told first day that others in my job lasted less than a month.Management is devoid of basic human empathy its very toxic.Area managers come in to "assess" and criticise everything while praising nothing good you do.Nothing is ever good enough.By the end i felt so low and underappreciated i wouldn't accept double my pay to stay. short frames of time to perform brow appointments which led to customers waiting as we are expected to sell products at the end of every appointment this also led to poor hygiene for clients. We are also expected to force people to buy things when they are clearly not interested which makes working uncomfortable as this leads to awkward interactions.
Pros
none
Cons
Stress, pressure, majorly high targets and unachievable standards, unempathetic management, messages on days off, stressful work days always.
