if your face fits
i have worked in many different places, and in all my time i have never worked in a more cliquey place. If your face fits and you went to school or college or even a family member worked here then you will advance. i knew this when a new starter who who was employed 4 months after me was made supervisor after 6 months..

Not enjoyable
Awful experience working there. Show willing and they abused it without praise or recognition. High staff turnover. Caught covid twice in the office due to a lack of any restrictions being followed then forced to isolate without pay.

Awful place to work
There are some good people who work for BES, but that is the only bonus. If you are new to the energy industry, you might find it ok to work there, but as your industry knowledge grows and experience on the job grows, your conscience will start to play on you. On CS you spent all day basically saying no to the customers. BES is NOT a competitive supplier, so when a customer realises a dodgy broker has insisted they have signed a customer to the best deal possible, and the customer finds out their rates are up to 33% higher than other suppliers, you just have to sit and basically tell the customer it's their fault for signing the contract. And since it's known for having small single site businesses as customers, a lot of the businesses you speak to will fail because of things like high rates. It's horrible and BES know you're replaceable so have no interest in helping you deal with the stress.

Redundancies
Well due to covid 19 BES have just carried out the worst redundancy process ever. If your not in the clicky group or friends with the managers you stand no chance as this is how they score you.

Would not recommend working for them.
The problem with this workplace is that the harder you work for them, the less they care about you. The people who work the hardest are the ones who get kept in the job role they are in. No advancement at all, they make excuses for you not to advance. Most of the management are picked due to who they know and what they know so yet again no advancement for the hard working in the office. There is a high amount of favouritism in the company from managers also, not alot further to explain on this point. Making most of us redundant during the current pandemic even though a furlough extension was given to companies.
