Really boring
Reach Truck Driver (Current Employee) - Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire - 5 April 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe work is that easy so boring… Could be stressful because pickers all around your flt they don’t care about nothing just their pick rate. 90% of the warehouse is so unbelievably rude! Never worked for a company where I experienced this kind of bad behaviour. Not a happy place to work, but the shift is actually alright and the money is fair as well. Good for someone who just want to go to work and go home, but not for someone who care and actually wants to get the job done.

Toxic
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Oldham - 31 July 2022
The management are useless and rude the supervisors blame you for their mistakes and seem to think they can supervise workers from behind a dest rarely showing their face in the warehouse only to walk through for their seemingly unlimited breaks, however when seen to go over you break by a minute they come down on you like a ton of bricks, many staff have tested this by taking the wxact same breaks as the supervisors and have been seen to go over by at least an hour
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, toxic, ubderapriciated

Hard work.
HGV 2 Driver (Former Employee) - Hoddesdon - 1 July 2022
My background has been in delivering building materials to site using a moffet offload(17years). First time doing frozen and ambient food deliveries. A bit of a shock for me. As with every job you need to be a certain kind of person and unfortunately I realised quite quickly this was not my cup of tea. Nice people all round, great if you want to earn good money and don't mind a bit of hard graft. It's a pity that it was not for me but as I say the world's your oyster.
Pros
Free food from so deliveries
Cons
Lots of waiting about.

Good company
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Royton - 5 June 2022
Best food is not for everybody if you don't like to work its not for you it's a little bit of driving with lots of lifting and carrying, sometimes up stairs. It's well paying and can be over 13 hour days. The staff look after there drivers they are treated well. I enjoyed being left to do the job no phone calls. Where are you?, How long till you get there?.
Cons
Long hours at busy times

Decent pay for 4 day/week. Very physical work but no time pressure
The work involves delivering to restaurants and fast food chains during set time windows. It is very physical, you could be stripping and handballing up to 17 pallets of chilled/frozen foods with a pump truck and sack barrow. If you like that kind of thing then it's great and keeps you active but if not then it's not for you. The pay is decent, and you are never pressured or rushed. Some of the trucks are really old and messy but roadworthy and they are updating the fleet.

Good pay also get £1000 discount on tesco shop a year and booker and macro discounts and 25% pizza express etc. The role itself is hard however you are payed fairly for the work and a good overtime rate is given. (when it is actually payed properly)
Pros

Good pay and shift paterns but long days and busy
HGV Class 2 Driver (Current Employee) - Banbury, Oxfordshire - 19 April 2022
Good pay also get £1000 discount on tesco shop a year and booker and macro discounts and 25% pizza express etc. 4 day work is good even if you do 10hrs a day you get paid for 12hrs. But manual work is involved delivering up to 17 pallets a day. Some routes will have stairs involved. So sometimes up or down the stairs. Can be challengeing. Young mans game.

Could be one of the best companies to work for but not under the current managment.
HGV Class 2 Driver (Former Employee) - Banbury, Oxfordshire - 26 March 2022
Best Food could be a good company to work for with the perk of having 4 day working weeks but really that is where the good ends. Sadly the management let's the company down, the company do not support the drivers in any way when receiving abuse from customers. You are expected to be the customers servant and most talk to you like dirt. You are expected to put stock exactly where they want it (up and downstairs) in some cases this can be over 100 boxes INCLUDING HEAVY CRATES OF DRINK. in some off the filthiest fast food chains in the country. The planning department are a joke and don't make plans that are logical to make the job easier based on silly contracts they have agreed. The lorries are on the borderline of scrap and can be unreliable. You will need to start anywhere from 2.30 in the morning for no extra money aswell as forced o/t to get the planned routes complete. Bank Holidays and weekends are also not paid at any premium rate. Unless you are best friends with your manager expect to be put on at least a 13 hour route everyday.
Pros
4 day weeks, Tesco staff discount
Cons
Long days, no extra money for unsociable hours, bad management, bad planning, old fleet.

Not good
They accept new driver and new LGV license but if they make mistakes they will dismiss them because the manager said you hold certificate so you professional? Really each person hold certificate should be fine hhhh what about Experience ? How you get it if no mistakes? And other things to talk about places……
Pros
Nothing good
Cons
Long hours

Poor management
Driver Assistant (Former Employee) - Oldham - 11 March 2022
The works easy enough and the money is good but management is very poor to say the least. Nepotism is rife at best food as they will hire/promote family and friends over who’s best for the job regardless of qualifications.

Don’t do it
HGV Class 2 Multi Drop Driver (Current Employee) - Banbury - 12 February 2022
Worst experience ever. Your expected to deliver food to small food outlets on main roads in a 26ton vehicle . A lot of the drops are unsafe . Working minimum 13 hour days . The company has a extremely high turn around of staff as the job is evil . Was advised by a friend not to do it but didn’t listen lasted 19 days . Wouldn’t recommend
Pros
Leaving
Cons
Long hours . Old vehicles .no respect

Poor communication and management skills
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Royton - 11 January 2022
if you value your health and well-being avoid at all costs. False promises of extra pay which often gets forgotten or changed after work is complete, mandatory overtime or threatened or blackmailed into doing, request a holiday which often gets rejected then told you will lose the holidays come new tax season, management barking orders whilst unwilling to help or listen to complaints of all workers, faulty equipment with a lack of covid health concerns. Its the icing on this very old cake and not enough words to describe how bad of a workplace this is
Pros
its a job
Cons
too many to count

Good pay for a hard job/time.
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire - 5 January 2022
Management from some areas is poor and treat you with disrespect, supervisors are under trained and not given the resources needed(However they are nice people). Whole mood of the warehouse is poor and no one seems happy. The role itself is hard however you are payed fairly for the work and a good overtime rate is given. (when it is actually payed properly)
Pros
Good pay. Tescos 10% off Bookers card etc.
Cons
Long hours when in flex. Poor management Hard work. Not given the rescources to pick efficiently.

Overall it's a good place to work for, can be hard graft sometimes though
Job used to be much harder a few years ago, now with better lorries and modern equipment to carry out the job everything is easier. I've been all around the UK since I started, I love this job and I'm passionate about it.
Pros
Free lunches in the kitchens you deliver to Being your own boss
Cons
Long hours

Lots of physical work
HGV Class 2 Agency Driver (Current Employee) - Hoddesdon - 17 November 2021
As an agency driver I can be sent with a driver's mate in a van, 7.5, 18 or 26 tonne route on up to 11 drops a shift either around central London or regional routes as far as Bath, Brighton, Bristol or Birmingham. You can spend up to an hour at each drop unloading two or three pallets of dry, chilled and frozen goods that have to be carried, often upstairs or downstairs, into kitchens using sack-barrows. Each shop is generally the same so you get to learn a routine. The management is generally supportive, helping with problems on the route.
Pros
Salary, as an agency driver. Variety of routes. Driver's mates. Flexible starting times.
Cons
Long hours - up to 12 hour shifts, Manual handling, Not knowing which route you're working until you start the shift, Often have to wait for lorry to be loaded at start of shift, As a new agency driver being paired with a new driver's mate on unfamiliar routes.

Awful environment
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire - 25 October 2021
Really is a toxic environment at the Hoddesdon depot, clueless supervisors but to be fair they are not trained properly or backed. New warehouse manager thinks he can the place with an iron fist but that only rubs people up the wrong way and in my experience there’s never any praise. Good people are constantly overlooked and no feel good factor within the role. They do pay ok but still less than another contract that’s in the same building which annoys people as you’d expect. Overall avoid if possible as there’s just no positions that are worthy.
Pros
Leaving time
Cons
Negative, toxic environment
