Work was always busy. There is always something to do. When not on pool I was cleaning - there is a lot of cleaning tasks to be completed through out the day. Could be better equipment too clean with, but unfortunately the budget is limited.
Free gym membership
Hot tempertaure on poolside during summer, especially when cleaning
Lack of visual or personal contact from senior management. Mostly early finishes and worked from home leaving direct management to do all the work. Really disappointing their lack of support to ground floor empliyees
flexi work hours
senior management lack of management
I experienced a culture of bullying and lying within an office clique. A lot of brown-nosing managers and some managers did not know how to manage their own staff. A blatant lack of care for mental health issues - in fact, they drove the knife in further. Service users names were frequently mocked and there was a lack of compassion towards impoverished service users. I came across people in my team who did not know how to copy and paste, use a search bar and one person could not even add up. Any helpful suggestions on improvements to processes to increase efficiency were dismissed. I would only recommend working at the council for the money, however, the lack of job security due to the cliquey work environment is enough to warn you off.
Every day i interact with customers from beginning to end. When facing difficulties management often take the customers side and are unhelpful. Therefore, i would not recommenced working for Blackpool Council. The most enjoyable part of this job is working with certain colleagues
My time working as a personal assistant was beneficial and eye opening as I learnt how those with visual impairment go about their daily lives. Not only did I enjoy assisting this person but I can genuinely say I formed a bond with someone I would not have encountered without this job opportunity
Working as a lifeguard has allowed me to make fast decisions under pressure, maintain concentration, and improve my team working skills. My position as a lifeguard has further developed my communication skills and enables me to be confident in my ability to help people, as well as being approachable and personable. Blackpool Council ensured they follow the law on how long a lifeguard is on poolside, and provided other tasks such as sports hall setup and general cleaning to keep the working day interesting.
Great new state of the art building with air conditioning, lots of room. Location excellent very central for public transport and the town centre. Good atmosphere, friendly helpful colleagues. Not easy to take full ownership of the work.
Backward way of working and thinking, lasted 18 months no people development, flexi is great but difficult to get projects completed and fridays no one seems to work even if they are in the office smallest things seem to detract people

I ensure that I adhere to and follow office policies and procedures scrupulously. I am fully conversant with all Microsoft packages and have excellent computer skills.
