Ok
Client Support (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 28 June 2023
I had the bare minimum training, then told off because I didn't know certain things. People were friendly but clicks were hard to break into for a newcomer.

No comment I enjoyed some staff but a lot of wasted time as management in my opinion didn’t have a clue how to treat the workers If you don’t mind how you are treated then this is the company for you

Long time ago but very poor company culture and employment conditions. Very long hours and essentially bullying management. Generally quite stressful.

Good company for stable employment
Sales and Relationship Manager (Former Employee) - London - 5 October 2020
Bloomberg offers a variety of opportunities across data, sales and engineering. As a large private company and a market leader it offer good salaries (with great benefits), decent opportunities for progression (however, rarely particularly rapid one) and a friendly work environment. At the same time, it's slightly risk averse and has a large product and management legacy which are not changed easily, although Bloomberg has been introducing more new data, quant and API products recently. It will give good opportunities to get an understanding of the financial system as a whole as well as specialise in some products in a lot more depth. Sales/account management job can sometimes require long travel hours (albeit in very comfortable conditions) and be slightly repetitive at the junior level. Sales teams environment depends a lot on individual managers.
Pros
Compensation, office
Cons
Opportunities for growth or lateral moves can be limited

watch out for the backstabbers!!!
Senior Account Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 May 2020
With very poor mgmt in place it was like the Wild west, Bloomberg takes your soul if you let it - they have their own weird processes - if you have an opinion and voice it you won't last long - they want robots!
Pros
Travel and food
Cons
Managment and work atmosphere

A place to start your carreer and move on
Connectivity & Integration Solutions (Former Employee) - London - 18 February 2020
Company offers plenty of opportunities for advancement especially for univeristy graduates throught the Analytics career path. After the initial "Wow!" effect wears off the place is like any other big company. The culture and dynamic depends on the department with Analytics, the biggest department in the company being extremely competitive and you should be prepared for micromanagement.
Pros:
> people of different backgrounds and interests resulting in communities from Women in technology to board games. You will find someone you get along with
> plenty of benefits like pension, events, healthcare, nice office
> good place to begin career in finance as there are plenty of resources available to develop your knowledge and collaboration with other teams allows you to develop an all-round awareness of finance
Cons:
> being a large company management is a mess where priorities can shift rapidly resulting in projects being abandoned, resources misallocated and staffing shortages
> work can be extremely stressful whether due to sheer volume, micromanagement or expectations that are set too high to impress management up the food chain. There were cases of employees being sent to rehab as a result of burnout
> your performance and value is determined based on various stats so be prepared to be a "cog in the machine"

Smoke and mirrors. Avoid like a plague
Application Specialist (Former Employee) - UK - 16 February 2020
check out the worst rated reviews - everything is true there.
Unnecessarily long hours, lack of direction and vision, no proper management while tons of petty micromanagement, form over substance all the way. Job satisfaction is a foreign concept in this place.
The company hires very bright people and treats them like imbeciles.
Mediocrity, hypocrisy and shallowness are actively encouraged.
A sinking ship...
Pros
Decent hotels for business travel
Cons
Everything else

stressfull
Quality & Reliability Consultant (Current Employee) - London - 14 September 2019
high workload with very little use of modern methods/tools. Very dynamic but process not optimised. It is managed as a private company and very much New York centric.

Fine Place to Work
CONTRACTS COORDINATOR (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 11 September 2019
A good place to work for an initial start in a specific field or career. However, it is not a place for real progress, many people only spend a year or two then move to the next opportunity.

Great environment, not a great Deal of learning
Equity Analyst (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 August 2019
The company is great, the people are great, but the actual working experience in the Global Data department isnt great. This even though the company is usually very flexible
Work includes lots of manual tasks and lack of great leadership hinders learning.
Pros
Free food
Cons
Lots of annoying tasks

Challenging environment
Team Leader (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 6 August 2019
Vast company, challenging infrastructure, some amazing people. Some teams do exceptional work, philanthropy projects always fantastic to work on, lots of opportunity for young people, active seek fresh talent and encourage younger people to come in. Little separation of work and home life. Extremely long hours. Multi national management can be challenging and cause a disconnect
Pros
Free food
