Good company if your looking to work in retail beauty
Resident Educator (Former Employee) - Lauder - 14 July 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedPart of the Estée Lauder company’s so had great benefits like discount, head office and a strong company structure. Unfortunately same with any retail, work life balance is 0- personal 10-to work!

Loved working there shame they hired bullies
Studio Manager (Former Employee) - Southampton - 13 August 2021
I was badly bullied by one girl on counter and the area manager which is a shame because I loved my job, hr didn’t seem to help me and clearly I couldn’t go higher than the area manager so felt like I needed to leave!
Pros
Staff store and products on training
Cons
Long hours

Pleasant
Makeup Artist (Former Employee) - Fenwick Bond Street and John Lewis Oxford Street - 1 February 2021
I enjoyed my 2 years working at flag ship London stores for Bobbi Brown. However I was very young and luckily had no financial responsibilities at the time which worked in my favour as the pay was terrible for full time work in central London. The cost of my travel alone took a massive chunk out of my income and there would have been no way I could afford to pay my living expenses had I not been living at home at the time.
Pros
Product gratis every year and access to the Estée Lauder Staff shop
Cons
Can work late into evening depending on which store you work in

Good while it lasted
Studio Manager (Former Employee) - Surrey - 17 July 2020
I started working for Bobbi a long time ago so I grew with the company, unfortunately for us they opened a free standing store in our area so there was bound to come a time when one of us had to go, so bit by bit the counter and staff was reduced till we were then taken out of our department store :( sad story but I had some amazing times working for this company and met some great people!
Pros
The people and the ethics
Cons
Job security (retail in general is doomed)

Positive, Teamwork, Quality
Makeup Artist (Current Employee) - Kent - 1 March 2020
I’ve worked at Bobbi Brown for 1.5yrs now. The new education team are lovely and down to earth, making training days interesting, inclusive, immersive and fun. The products are high quality and popular for bridal makeup. The brand ethos is about enhancing your features and natural beauty rather than creating a mask with makeup.

Amazing brand and amazing company, creating amazing experiences for all clients, ensuring targets are achieved on a daily basis, training given on all new and existing products, really good company discount!

Enjoy coming to work everyday and each day is different. Love my team and love the culture! everyone is really supportive and is a satisfying job. Just wish we were paid the living wage! had to get a second job to cover the petrol to get to this one

Don’t do it
Manager (Former Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 14 October 2019
Don’t do it - it’s awful! They treat staff very bad there is no progression and they have no idea about you personally they just think of you like a little fish in the sea that makes them
Money and they pay you pennies

Fun work place
Coach (Former Employee) - Brown, UK - 7 October 2019
A typical day would include taking make-up appointments, a lot of practical makeup application on clients and selling. Great to learn new makeup skills and get very good practice. My colleagues were great to work with, more like family. The management is ok, in the beauty retail industry it's not uncommon for them to hardly be on the shop floor because they seem to spend all day every day "doing paperwork" (which takes the rest of us about 1 hour to complete). The training and perks of discounts are good.

Fun place to work
Coach and Advanced Retail Artist (Current Employee) - Oxford Street - 11 September 2019
The team are lovely! If you have to travel far to get in the pay is not always worth ow much it costs to travel. Not much advancement in the brand unless want to become a manager of a retail store.
Pros
Good discount on all estee lauder brands
Cons
Long hours with travel, not amazing pay

Fun place of work
MAKEUP ARTIST (Current Employee) - Kingston upon Thames, Greater London - 12 July 2019
Met some amazing girls working at Bobbi, all so fun and friendly unlike some other counter brands. Great way to build up experience and get to know products and working with different skin types/tones. Perfect brand for starting out in makeup.
Pros
Discount on products

Working weekends

Bad HR and Management
Assistant Business Manager (Current Employee) - London - 12 March 2019
I work for Bobbi and am currently trying to leave, the management and HR are really bad and am currently having serious issues with my management. You're just a number for management unfortunately and not a person.

Awful company to work for!
Assistant Studio Manager (Former Employee) - Birmingham, UK - 10 December 2018
Bobbi Brown would be shocked at how the company is being run at the moment. Illegal activity was carried out to ensure I was managed out of the company for someone else's gain. Absolutely disgusting and their pay is just shocking. Estee Lauder as a company pay awful considering the things we have to do within the retail industry.

Meet great people and gain makeup experience
Makeup Artist (Former Employee) - Shepherds Bush, London, UK - 3 December 2018
Working at Bobbi Brown was, and I can say this for all the girls, a disappointment. The management ignored our problems and the fun was taken out of the daily routine.
I was initially really excited to join a brand that I have grown up with and heard so much about, but came out of the job wishing I had chosen another brand.
My goal was to progress within the company and hopefully gain knowledge of the business side, however all the girls I started at the counter with have now quit due to an unhappy work environment. Unfortunately the best thing about working here was the discount and the amazing girls I met.
Pros
Discount
Cons
Unrealistic expectations

enjoyable but stressfull
Retail Artist (Former Employee) - Oxford, Oxfordshire - 20 October 2018
retail hrs are long and the days are tiring, learnt a lot about make up and manament experience. Student based city so lots of small sales, higher manament put strain on you and work becomes life.
Pros
discounts
Cons
retail hrs

amazing brand, not amazing salary
Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) - Manchester - 23 August 2018
if you get a good store and a good team it makes a huge difference to how much you will enjoy this job. the training is amazing at head office in london and i learnt a lot from this brand in terms of make up application and skincare ingredients and skin types. the discount for brands owned by the company as well as its own is amazing! only downside is salary isnt great compared to other brands and commission isnt amazing either. very high sales targets (store dependant) and people tend to move on when they realise there isnt a lot of room for progression so not much for salary increase either. overall an enjoyable job though.
Pros
amazing discount on brand owned companies, amazing people, store discount dependant on store, make up experience
Cons
salary or commission not great, not much room for progression
