Decent place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Overall the job isn’t too bad as you get to work from home, but it can tend to get pretty long and boring by sending the same types of messages multiple times to different customers.

Productive

Nice place to work. Good canteen. Hours you can choose. Good managers. Good staff. You can choose your shifts what time best for you to work. Pay is very very good and other benefits too. Good luck

Horrible place to work if you don’t fit in

If you don’t fit in with the rest of the staff this will be a horrible job, you will be spoke down to and treated badly. I made an effort to speak with everybody on my team and that was not enough. Apart from that the offices can be extremely hard to work in as very loud music is often playing through the speakers.

Productive fun but bad management

Bad management, good pay maybe but its still not good for working with them and you get annoyed as too bust but hey how spaghetti o, odd to the farmers market you go

Poor management

Communication is extremely poor between management and most of the managers don't have the skills for the job. Once you are a team manager there is no chance of any promotions.

Good place to work for

I've been here for nearly 5 years at customer services. Really good place to work for as the managers are really nice. Working from home with no telephones involved. Can't complain.

Not for the faint of hearts

A typical day would be coming in to work and engaging in the brief session before you start working either as a puck walker or packer. There is some good in this company as it helps train your stamina, gives you a level of discipline and keeps you healthy to a certain degree. You are trained to meet targets at all times as well. My group manager is great and few others I have Interactions with but I can't say it for everyone. There are a few managers who over stress you while at work, a manager who works on the night shift, who I won't say by name gives all staff stress, pressure and grief all the time. For example if a person is to complete his picking which often has a target of 130 per hour. Pickers will meet that target for most of the day and eventually could slip as we are all human we get tired the manager in question would say that it wasn't good e ough even if the remaining 7 hours worth of work went well. So, not every manager is delusional like this individual but there is a target we have to meet it would be nice if there was some improvements in the software. Workplace culture is the best you can speak to people at lunch which is a half an hour break after that during work it is difficult to speak to anyone as you've got work to complete. Certain pudo marshalls can be very nosy and condescending assuming they are managers, giving you demands, talking down to you as well. But not all either. Hardest part is ensuring to meet the target for 8 hours straight as I am on 8 hour shift 5 days a week. Most enjoyable part is break and going home be ause the job isn't for -

Pros

Paid break, paid holidays, often can go home early around 12am

Cons

Always tracked, going to the toilet is timed, long hours, no rest

Productive and fast paced workplace

I work for boohoo from 7 years ago. Good company I've had continuous work for the 7 years. Did a variety of roles, progressed up to a permanent team manager position

Working for boohoo

There is no value for people. You are just a number. If they don't want you they will find any means possible to terminate you. The management is poor. There is no fairness for employees.

Pros

The community of people

Cons

Bad management

Bad just bad, don’t bother

Don’t bother working here unless you like boring work with very long hours, fyi they just made a lot of they’re permanent staff redundant. Only offer them 2 weeks wage. Avoid at all costs

it was ok at the start but turned sour in the end.

What is the best part of working at the company? For what you do the money is alright What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Well, the way of working is constantly changing. They tell you to talk one way one week and then the next they tell you that’s wrong and it needs to be like this. You get treated like a child, sometimes it’s like being back at school with the amount of ‘training’ or ‘coaching’ you have. Some TL’s take it way too serious and try to minute manage everything you do when sometimes it’s best to just leave the advisers to work. The constant dread every shift of being failed on a message and then having to do training was bad. The hours are horrendous too, I can deal with 7-4 but as soon as I did a 12-9 or 1-10 then it would make me depressed. Especially when you did those shifts at a weekend. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Negative all round. Probably a product of WFH but it felt like everything you did was never good enough for them. Something always had to be changed or improved. You couldn’t just work a certain way for a number of months, it would always be something different every week. What is a typical day like for you at the company?8 straight hours of responding to customers. You get two 15 minute breaks and a half hour for lunch which is ok but sometimes you might be online for 3 hours at a time. It ended up with them tracking your activity to see if you were always responding to customers and if you had ‘missing minutes’ you’d be pulled up on it

Bad just bad

Unreasonable targets. Management always out to get you. Some TL are good but some are just kids. Higher levels of management are just there for the ride dont really care. Now they hit the staff hard with redundancy, change of shifts and for the last 6 months we were not allowed to put in shift changes request. Looks like they were planning on doing this. Best thing about this place, none stay away. Trust me is not worth the stress. HR is pretending to be on your side but deep down they were just trying to get you fired for any little reason.

Pros

Canteen

Cons

Culture and lack of good management

Okay not bad

Not a bad place to work all down to your TL amd management. Each shift has there own ways of doing things, management are good to an extent dependent on who you talk to
Was this review helpful?

okay place

long hours but suppose you are paid fairly for the amount of work - we were not allowed to talk to other colleagues. you do need to work at a fast pace
