Gateshead where you carry the bone idle
If you want to carry lazy members of staff and deal with a childish manager who can't add up and has the iq of a slug feel free to apply to this dive of a depot. Don't expect a regular wage that's accurate expect a manager who tells stories behind your back expect one who favours his pal and too scared to challenge the bone idle, expect to be given items to work with that don't work pallet trucks and cages don't expect safety equipment that's any good day shift may be run OK but nightshift is run like a complete joke.
Pros
Going home or having holidays in for the whole week
Cons
Turning up

Booker has a comfortable atmosphere where work is enjoyable.
At Booker a typical day of work would usually consist of, Picking and Packing for the deliveries to be transported and unloaded at of licenses and shops that had ordered goods from Booker. Also it would include stacking shelves with bulk stock ready for staff to pick it for the deliveries and for customers to be able to find what stock they want for their shops easily. For me because i was on work experience i also cleaned up within the store, Doing task such as brooming, polishing etc. Also as it was work experience i would go out on the delivery truck helping unload stock into other shops with the delivery driver. Whilst i was a Booker i learnt how to pick stock accurately using the automated stock picker, also i learnt how the delivery system works within Booker and i learnt how to use certain things within the store like the pallet mover etc; The management within Booker were Firm but fair usually giving fair jobs that would not be too much hard work. The co-workers i had worked with within Booker, Were great people, all of them were hard-working employees that were dedicated to their job. They would usually be upbeat and happy to help with anyones problems. The hardest part within the job was getting the hang of working the automated stock picker and getting used to how that works. But the most enjoyable part of the job by far was the going out on the delivery lorry to help the lorry driver.
Pros
good working environment, food facilities and decent amount of time allocated for breaks.
Cons
having to get used to the automated stock picker.
