Fun but intense

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Constant new people starting and people leaving weekly and shifts were short but full on. Most days were split shifts which gives you a long break but going in again later was never fun. Never received actual training (due to covid?) but some people got to shadow more experienced team members for a shift, but not everyone. However it was easy to pick up what to do, just most people struggled to manage their section of tables due to a la carte style three course meals in the evening. Sometimes given double your contracted hours but management do listen if you find it too much. Always opportunities to take on extra shifts if wanted and living wage for all ages is great! Overall, fun but stressful.

Pros

Short shifts, great pay, friendly staff

Cons

Can be stressful, lack of training, unwanted hours

Not a very good company to work for despite advertising that they are

Coverympany very money orientated work team members to their limits.Accommodation provided for team is very basic if not should be condemned.Push managers to their limits with targets constantly having to reach them.No team morale no help in terms of mental health support. If not performing you are bullied into leaving .You g team members are treated Even worse.

Pros

Discount on holidays for family

Cons

Long hours.Constant pressure to reach targets have no interest in guest or staff

Times have changed

Been with the company 16 years in a management roll the company now I feel they use the key team and show no respect and when challenged they don't care. I've loved my time with the company but the ways it's gone my time has come to leave

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Long hrs no work life balance

Interesting place to work with a demanding clientele

Long hours and poor pay. The company does not have its employees at heart, just profits. The goalposts were moved constantly and the leadership was very poor

Toxic culture dog eat dog

Wanted targets met but refused to set anything for fear we would just do the bare minimum. management would monitor everything you did and were rarely happy with decisions made on tasks. 2nd line team could do no wrong. Everyone else would work round the system never doing the job as instructed meaning others who followed the procedure stood out as being inefficient

Pros

Good work parties cheap holidays

Cons

The company and culture as a whole

Job not as advertised.

It was unfortunate that this job was not as advertised having next to no time to manage team. This was due to lack of team leading to extra hours worked without pay. Doing rota's and time sheets at home not able to recruit enough team because hourly rate to low for SIA trained applications.

Pros

Close to home and learned some extra skill's.

Cons

Not enough time off, having to change my rota all the time to cover the gap's.

Nice Co-workers, Terrible Management

The management would expect you to start at 8am and sometimes not finish until 1 - 2 am. In this time you would be expected to be on your feet most of the time, and even asked to cover roles in which you have no prior training. The whistle blowing policy is non existent, as is the sick leave policy. Communication from management is laughable. The only positive, is that some of the staff are really nice and genuine people, and you can make friends that will last lifetimes. Also, occasionally guests would say that you have made their holiday worthwhile.

Pros

Some of the staff

Cons

Management, Long Hours, No sick Leave, Toxic work environment, Homophobic, Racist, Xenophobic

Very quickly shown the door

You are told at the start of training that " we understand everyone goes at a different pace while learning" but actually they want you to all be the same. Writing notes discouraged during training. Training in favour of the younger members of the team. Extra support offered and retracted very quickly. Pressured with no choice but to leave after 9 days of training after being told I had a week to improve . Was not allowed at least to get to the end of training period. Definate vote of no confidence from trainer.First I was " worth it " very quickly railroaded out again.

Pros

Could have been my saviour career if given more of a chance.

Cons

No patience given with virtual class room environment

Clicky

People only get on if you are a crawler or your face fits. Friends of friends and loads of family members. If you are one of them you need no talent, loyalty or customer focused. If it suits the management when you are busting a gut or getting them out of a mess great, but its soon forgotten they have no loyalty to you and they are the most false people I have worked with

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours

Bad

They work you to the bones, they rarely think about others just themselves. They drill the culture down your throat, its always do as I say not as I do. Hardest part of the job is actually getting to work because you know its going to be a really really really atrocious day

Pros

Cheap food

Cons

Way to long hours

Most Stressful Role

-8-10 hours a day sitting at a laptop answering hundreds of calls which are all different. There is so much to remember as there are so many different types of holidays, its just so confusing to remember everything, and with Covid management change the way we operate all the time and expect us to deal with it.-Team Leaders are always on hand to help but sometimes can be useful , or they are annoyed cause you are expected to know what to do.-You always have to be available to take a call and are penalized on how you long you take sorting a booking out after coming off the phone, if you are too long the manager or team leader will phone/come over and ask what you are doing that is taking so long.- Management have no clue about staffs wellbeing, especially working from home, team leaders arrange a meeting once a month with you and just tell you that you need to do better, not about how you are finding the work.- Constantly shouted at by customers if there are mistakes in bookings or management has decided on something that they do not like. It really gets you down as customers complain how bad they need a holiday, yet you're working so hard, and cant have a holiday cause your wages are going on paying for carers for your grandparent, customers should realise that the person they are shouting at has feelings to.- No training or development throughout the year, just during off-peak seasons.- Minimum wage not worth the stress you go through, a lot of people have left due to the stress, just glad i am leaving in a few weeks.

Pros

Discounts on holidays

Cons

Long Hours, Minimum wage, Treated like you're nothing, No training or development, No concern on mental health, Constantly shouted at by customers.

Horrible place to work

You were overworked and underpaid for the trouble you had to deal with the unsociable hours for less than minimum wage is rubbish the staff accommodation also wasn't the best&you was limited to cooking food as you was only allowed a microwave also management letting themselves into your room to do a check to see if you have anything you shouldn't have ie cooker hob, people in your room who shouldn't be there really is like being in prison

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Again nothing

Very poor management

Gained a position through indeed which lasted only a week due to the corona outbreak. Fair enough, there wasn't really anything that could be done. Was told I could continue working once the park reopened which again, fair enough. However once the park did reopen I received no email, call or text. So I rang up multiple times trying to contact the arcade department. I even contacted multiple staff members directly through Facebook and I just got ignored. I tried reaching out through every thing I could think of and nothing. Thanks a lot

Productive and fun place to work + perks!

Lovely people to work with and very helpful although my job as a cleaner I won't be mingling with others while working but, this is a good thing as we don't wish to transfer germs and we are doing all we can to prevent the spred of covid 19 to ensure as far as humanly possible safe and well maintained caravans.

Pros

Discount in shop and holiday within the broader group and on site.

Cons

Hard work not for slackers.

Haven

Job closes at end of season so have to find other work you get 20% discount but i never received mine work load was a bit much but over all could cope with time limits on each caravan management not very helpfull pay is every 2 weeks but you don't get paid the full hours only the hours you worked and they take money off your wages for break times 30 mins so over all not worth working for haven

Pros

20 % discount

Cons

Money taken off your wages for 30 min break times each time you work
