Awful place to work I had no induction training there was no routine of activities where it was catered for all needs not just some that was able as the rest end up getting left to do nothing all day long. There isn't alot of stock for activities you are left alone with more than 8 residents alone per activitie which I feel is awful as I am new I don't know the residents or there needs just yet there is just no structure and management do not value your concerns or you as a person

Definitely not a superb place to live and work

Bowood Court and mews was a lovely care home but not a nice place to work The lack of staff and the lack of support from head office has been a problem. They put so much pressure and stress on the management team and wider team but don't support or put anything in place to help. Head office when they actually visit will walk straight past you without even acknowledging you but you will soon know if they arent happy. they don't care about any staff in the home, once your card is marked by head office your days are numbered. Up until recently they didn't pay you holiday properly even when entitled to it. You had to accrue your holiday every year and they didn't do that correctly (how do you take a year's worth of holiday if it takes a year to accrue).they would refuse holiday and say you haven't accrued it so make you have it unpaid. Once staff actually spoke up....... They finally changed it. Pay day is a joke and to confusing to even try and explain. The lack of staff means you will cover any department from cleaning, activities to kitchen etc. The "new" temporary manager is the same one that walked out on the staff and residents for a new job a few years ago. Iv watched the previous management team work their socks off through covid and keep staff and residents safe and as happy as they can be while the world went mad.they did a fantastic job, so well done to them. I'd of loved an exit interview to get my options across but I was busy when they rang and they never bothered again, so thought I'd pop it all on here.

Really great company to work for

I’ve been at bowood two months now and have enjoyed every minute of it , was a bit lost at first as didn’t know what to expect but have really been blown away by the support you get from everyone their , the last two months I have learned so much and everyday is never the same as the last and I love that about my job
