Fun place to work

I’ve been with company for over 10 years now and I’ve grown so much working with them.I’ve worked at various events, bars and venues for Bridgegate. They make me feel appreciated, valued at the company.

Amazing area manager and head door

I think this company does vary between doors but my full time door is amazing. The head and deputy take as many teaching moments as possible and even let their staff teach them new things, there's no overly authoritative atmosphere. The area manager is very supportive and acts like a friend to you over any form of boss. Best doors I've worked

Great working atmosphere and something fun always happens

Was a great place to work, had a phone call was told to come down that night, had a conversation with the manager and he said 'do you have badge on you, want to start tonight' so i said 'yes' and jumped straight into my first shift that same night. The nightclub scene was eye opening for me. I met many great people and have great memories from my time.

Pros

Great atmosphere if you enjoy meeting random people

Cons

Long hours outside during winter, if you're working front door

Current employee

I got the job because I worked for the previous area manager before and she asked me to join. It’s only weekend work so not enough to live on but it’s extra money to top up my salary. Always paid on time but occasionally it’s not correct. Don’t get payslips but always work available. There’s been sometimes I haven’t had shifts but that was because the area manager left but after a few months the new one called me up and I work every weekend. Been a few hiccups along the way but otherwise ok. I do get sent all over the place. Would like to have a set venue, otherwise fine. I have a cp license but work on doors of venues on weekends. A lot better than my other retail security job (I work for 3 companies)Can be stressful when there’s an incident but that’s part of the job. Generally no problems working for bridgegate. Some of the staff are lazy or not good otherwise fine.

Pros

Free food at most venues, paid on time, plenty of shifts available

Cons

Not always paid correctly, have to request payslips

One Of The Better Firms

Excellent company to work for with capable supervisors and management team in place. Never any issues getting paid, as in, always got paid on time and always the correct amount, any discrepancy, just send them a text & it would get sorted.

Good company to work for.

Good company to work for. Plenty of shift work. If you're sick, they happily find cover. Shifts are mainly bars and nightclubs. Some locations are one man, 2 man door etc depending on the venue.

Pros

Always shifts available.

Cons

No cons

Pay issues and unprofessional teammates

Alright on the whole as far as security companies go, however the pay was sometimes late, in some cases it was late by a month, and in one case where I did them a favour travelling an hour from my home to cover another job for them at short notice, I worked a shift at a promised rate and received half the agreed ammount and it was 5 weeks befor I even saw that much. Some venues had teammates who were lax at their jobs, didnt screen customers well enough and at a Bristol venue a customer with a knife managed to get passed 3 staff members and a metal detector befor I searched them properly and found it. Contacting higher ups is virtually impossible sometimes, ure job and safety can be risky depending on where u go and how seriously u take ure job, and the ammount of shirt fillers is impressive, although that's a global issue in the industry now so it's nottheir fault. That being said... the company are better than most of the average security companies out there atm, they do have some employees who know their stuff and will have ure back, and they dont lie to ure face when they say they have short changed you.. they say they have and apologise. So.. give them a go and see if it's betterthan the other companies out there, personally I think their on the better end of the spectrum, even if it does sound bad.

Pros

Consistant in their failings and successes.

Cons

Money issues and some poor quality staff

Outstanding security company to work for!

Joined a team based in fleet, quickly learned who I was working with and what they expected and from then on tried to progress which happened nicely! Always supported by my area manager and head office. Moved on from head door a while ago but still go back to help.out and earn some extra every so often. Fully recommended company to work for.

Pros

Clear objectives, always supported, paid on time every time

Providing security in night clubs and pubs

Working from 9 pm until 2-3 am on Friday,Saturday nights mainly but also some Sundays prior to Bank holidays and nights during Christmas.Smart appearance required but coat, tie and high visibility jacket provided by the employer. Free parking behind some night clubs available. Opportunity to meet all types of people from all walks of life. As a security officer you have to carry out body frisks, check handbags and toilets for knives and drugs. There can often be first aid emergencies and you need to be prepared to contact the emergency services. There can also often be some challenging behavior which you may have to deal with. However there is good team work and organisation to help keep everyone safe. You may work inside and also on the Door.

Not bad company

Area manager is not to be seen or heard of and I guess if hears about this I won’t be needed again but it’s true. No welfare checks or support of just asking how the teams are doing. Defo seen when a problem though and very unprofessional.
