Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedBeen working here since Bristol waste started and saw the company going down since. The only good things are life-work ballance, from 6 - 14:18, loaders typically finishing earlier, so that's a big plus, there no punch in punch out system, but if there a lot of work on the floor, they can keep people waiting till 14:18, as it still time you are paid. Overtime after paid at 1,5 rate, make sure you write it down or take a picture of overtimesheet, because they've got ability to disappear and then you will change into beggar mode and try to recover it, good luck with that. There are a lot of funny and easy going guys, who really will help and sort out problems at work better than people in charge. Plus the day going faster if you have a good crew, so you can chat to someone and laugh. Saying about management they like to use their power to try to find something on you to penalize or discipline. Some people in charge are ok and some good managers forced to follow the order what incompetent from above said. Also there are a lot of directors with fat salaries who never show their faces to workers and noone knows who they are and not once Bristol waste had a genetal meeting where directors meet work staff for 7 years it exists, saying it all. But they regularly have a massive pay rise, some equivalent to loaders yearly wage and for us as workers Bristol waste started negotiation with unions with 1%, standart every time. Work could be phisically hard, especially recycling or refuse containers, street sweeping autumn when a lot of leaves... If you say your round is too big, they would -
Pros
Rubbish will always exist, the job is indefinite
Cons
Rubbish, no light at the end of the tunnel ;)

not a fun place to work
Driver Team Leader/Operative (Former Employee) - Bristol - 17 December 2017
It's ok if your face fits, they always find friends and family jobs. The hardest part of the job is working in bad weather, the most enjoyable part of the job is meeting people and being outside when the weather is good.
Cons
PPE was not up to standard for adverse weather conditions.
