Store Assistant in Mansfield

Fun workplace
Volunteering at the British Heart Foundation was a really lovely experience. It wasn't a really fast place job, there were times were you can just rest and relax, but that doesn't mean it never got busy, it mostly got busy during the weekends or late on weekdays but it was never a problem because there are always enough staff on-site to help every customer. I also learnt new skills while working there. Not only was I able to learn new skills, but I also met a lot of new people, everyone was usually friendly from the Supervisors to the Staff to the Customers. it was always a thrilling experience working at British Heart Foundation

It's a business-remember that
Where do I start. I have been working here for a while and I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend it. They expect so much from you and pay below London living wage. You are made to do the job of 3 people and are told thank you so much for your hard work when the higher ups come around and that's it. Thank you won't pay my bills. They are so focused on targets and not about making their employees happy in the stores happy. They have more respect for volunteers and those in the head office, and there is a culture of well if you're paid staff get on with it and shut up. I could say so much more but I'll leave it there.

Do not work here. Ever.
I would've loved working here; flexible hours, great benefits, helping out an amazing cause - it was perfect... If it wasn't for the completely inappropriate behaviour from staff and volunteers alike towards young women. This tainted my view of the entire company, which is sad considering it's a charity. I wouldn't recommend any young woman works there, as they're putting themselves in the path of this disgusting behaviour, which is only enabled by the other staff and volunteers.Workplaces should be relaxed, calming, fun environments, where you're able to build on your skills, gain amazing experience and meet new people - NOT somewhere you leave having to file many police reports.Do not recommend.

Fun workplace to be
I have been volunteering for British Heart Foundation since September/October 2020 and really enjoy it, I can honestly say it's the best thing I have done. I have met some new people and they are all wonderful to work with, they made me feel welcome when I first started.
Assistant Shop Manager in England

Very negative working culture
I was very grateful to work for & with such a good bunch of people in our shop! Other shops staff were great too! Our shop smashed our targets working as a team! Further up the managerial chain I experienced a very negative working culture which is why I left. I cannot share on here what I actually experienced as it was that serious! My heart goes out to all the lovely people who I've worked with, thank you x x

There was a lot of Customer service questions, as this is the ONLY main thing the company works on, they also ask your background. You don't have to be from Retail.

Shared on 12 December 2018

They didn't really as It was only a voluntary job
