Enjoyable and rewarding workplace
Integrity Manager (Current Employee) - Kingsbury, Warwickshire - 5 July 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI've been at BPA for 14 years and I enjoy working here. The role BPA plays in the UK energy sector is quite unique and this gives the opportunity to learn and develop yourself doing things others don't get to do! The company has a really strong emphasis on training and development and has some great teams of people across the UK. The roles here provide lots of challenges and there is the continual reward of working in this industry and helping keep the UK moving. BPA are well represented in the wider industry which gives great opportunities to meet with others and network.

A great place to develop and learn with a friendly team.
Managing Director (Current Employee) - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire - 30 June 2022
My own personal experience of BPA has been extremely positive, joining at Chief Operating Officer and progressing to Chief Executive in 2021. I’ve found the whole team to be welcoming and supportive. The board of the business are also hugely supportive of change and behind making BPA a genuinely great place to work. BPA is a friendly company with a committed team. The business has a strong operational and engineering background providing an environment for colleagues to grow and develop. There are plenty of training and development opportunities with many of the team undertaking external qualifications and gaining promotion within the company. Professional recognition is actively encouraged with bonus’s for reaching professional milestones such as chartered status. Membership of a professional body is encouraged and funded. Roles are varied and provide opportunities for personal and professional development. Recently lots of improvements have been made to support colleagues be at their best; such as flexible working, updated annual bonus system, improved maternity/paternity/adoption policies and health initiatives such as the team Kaido challenge . Colleagues are encouraged to be involved in the business through the employee led groups such as the employee forum and safety, sustainability and process safety committees – and there’s plenty of non-work social activity too.
Pros
Friendly, supportive with plenty of learning opportunities.

Bpa has a family feel and always progressing and improving.
Site Control and light maintenance (Current Employee) - Buncefield - 7 June 2022
My work probably takes a couple of years to learn but there's a wealth of experience here, plus modules to follow and plenty of training courses. In my section we have a good team that help each other at work with tasks or holiday commitments. We have many groups/meetings e.g Health and safety, security, employee forum, so we can progress and get our views across. Also you get to know other people from around the country working for Bpa. We work with aviation fuel which can be dangerous if safety not a top priority, which it is and I haven't felt unsafe in the 13+ years I've worked here. This is also down to a good conscientious team.
Pros
Christmas party with partners at nice venues. Bonus payment targets. Good pension.
Cons
My job is 12hrs long and in a shift rotation which isn't for everyone.

A company that genuinely has your wellbeing in mind
HR Advisor (Current Employee) - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire - 16 May 2022
Since joining BPA, I couldn't believe how many people had decades of length of service within the company. Immediately you start to think "they must be doing something right". And, the longer I work for BPA, the more and more I see about how well they look after their staff. From your thorough induction, training, ongoing development meetings, to things like thank yous, bonuses, and recognition. I can't fault them, and would recommend them without a doubt.

Interesting projects in a challengin environment
Senior Engineer (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 2 March 2018
Working in a live oprating environmnt provids rewards and challanges. The experence gained here can be interesting and unique, with project works and engineering challenges, however opportunities for reward, development and progression can be limited.
Pros
Good work life balance. Interesting projects
Cons
Limited opportunities for progression
