Brook Street
Brook Street Employee Review
Good place to work. Wish I never left
Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 18 September 2023
Good friendly place to work. Room for progression, care about you and flexible. Management are good and recognise your hard work. Environment is really good, obviously will have your office politics but overall probably one of my favourite places I’ve worked at. Job itself is good too, keeps you on your toes

No support
Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 1 November 2023
Job is actually good if you are experienced as you can be left alone to do your own thing, however if you do require support it is quiet hard to find. Big staff turnover, take on large groups of staff and will sort of throw you in the deep end and see how long you can swim. Have seen a lot of higher management leave the company very quickly, closed several branches very abruptly with no warning. Upper management appear to have no care for the staff they have working for them. I would honestly say stay clear if you are wanting a career as there is a lot of favouritism here at Brook Street with certain people spitting dummies out if they do not have everything their way.

Fast pace and lots of learning
Customer Service Consultant (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 21 September 2023
Busy days with customers and solving their queries. Learned a lot about National Insurance, Taxes, Self Assessment, PAYE, NI registrations and enquiries and how to perform effectively with the use of Microsoft suites. There is a lot of guidance from how to use softwares to how to speak to customers and deal with queries in a quick and timely manner. Management honestly could be better - some management have no clue what they’re doing or how to guide us when things go wrong on company end. Seems quite unorganised a lot of the time. Very diverse work place and people from so many different races, ages, backgrounds which makes it so much better. Hardest part of the job would be having real time management skills and that doesn’t mean just logging on and getting ready at 9am, but duration of calls, after call work, managing your workload in an appropriate manner. Most enjoyable part of the work is the environment and having employees who value and respect you
Pros
Paid weekly
Cons
Lack of communication on management end
