A typical day at work
A typical day at work will consist of me first checking any messages/ emails I receive. I have a plan of action to follow, so I'll check if I have any outstanding tasks. I prefer to complete outstanding tasks as my job can be unpredictable and last minutes requests are frequent. I work in a skills diverse team which is helpful as we all compliment each other and can help find solutions to any difficulties that may arise. The hardest part of my job is not being responsible for certain processes which other departments control. As the direct contact for an academic, I am relying on other departments to speed up their processes to solve certain issues whilst I remain the "middleman" who is unable to step in and complete the process. The most enjoyable part of my job is completing tasks which aid the academics to produce research results that in turn help society by improving their well being and standard of living.
Pros
Flexible working
Cons
Far from my home
