Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedBig company, can be but of a popularity contest. Not massive amounts of internal progression meaning lots of competition for positions. Constantly rebuffing

Jobs at Bupa
Hard work, not enough wages
Trainee Dental Nurse (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 24 November 2023
For the work you put into training and being a nurse, you are no where near respected or treated as such. Disappointing as I love my job but sometimes dentists can be very belittling and it makes me want too go back to retail and that’s saying somethinf

Management hard to deal with
Dental Nurse (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 17 November 2023
Management very hard to deal with as they had favourites, area manager was useless and actually wished me luck looking for another job rather than helping me sort a simple issues out. Dentists do not appreciate their nurses, nurses don't work well as a team due to this. Overall, a very toxic environment which made me leave dental nursing altogether. I did work at another Bupa up north and it was very lovely so they are not all the same

No opportunities to progress
Customer Experience Specialist (Former Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 15 November 2023
They got rid of a lot of good people in a mass redundancy a while back and did not care much for the employees at the time which led to a very toxic workplace. May be better now.

People too overworked
Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Salford, Greater Manchester - 12 November 2023
Not enough people, wants to be caring and have good values but puts pressure on people. Good benefits I.e healthcare but you become exhausted and just generally overworked.

Busy workplace with hardworking colleagues!
Dental Nurse (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 5 November 2023
Dental nursing as a whole is stressful and not for everyone, it can be hard to get time off and the pay isn't great however this is definitely one of the best places I have worked and they at least try to support you when and where they can.

For the mentally strong
Member Advisor (Current Employee) - Salford, Greater Manchester - 31 October 2023
It can be tough listening to hard calls from people who are ill. Training was intense but apart of me feels like there wasn’t enough training when it comes to certain tasks/queries. It’s a role where you have to learn on the job/learn backwards but that means a lot of the time you are putting members on hold to try and figure out what to do next. There isn’t really enough support especially when you are new. Have had a lot of calls where I am left in tears afterwards. The pros is the environment, how it’s a hybrid role, the people you work with are all nice too.

The best practice I’ve worked at.
Lead Dental Nurse (Current Employee) - Herlington Peterborough - 31 October 2023
I’ve worked at Bupa Herlington for the last 5years and it is by the far the best practice I’ve worked in. Bright and clean surgeries, so many possibilities for development and great management who are approachable and always willing to help. If you’re an individual who’s hard working, can work well as part of a team, good time management and can take direction then Herlington is a great practice for you.
Pros
Friendly team, great and approachable management, so much room for development.

None

Lovely people
Member Services Advisor (Former Employee) - Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey - 30 October 2023
Colleagues lovely , facilities good including onsite gym, restaurant and coffee shop. Hybrid working now standard . Job very stressful , busy to point of exhaustion . Customers can be rude and aggressive , hard when the call before was a bereavement call, or someone with a terminal illness who cried while they spoke to you . Needs more support and less micro monitoring by management . Could so easily be improved just by doing this .

Basic workplace
Lead Dental Nurse (Current Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 30 October 2023
Fair work load and what is required. Steady and usually flexible for personal appointments Not many benefits that are easy to use. Unfair pay between the same roles. Area for small improvement or pay rises overall stingy on pay even though huge buisness. Dont replace after someone leaves
