Great career progression
Senior Room Manager (Current Employee) - Birlingham - 27 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGreat career progression, great team. I enjoy my job and the people there. The children are priority and although a lot of policies and procedures, they are there to protect the children and staff. I have had great experiences and enjoy my time at work.
Pros
Great training. Lots of room for progression. Pay is decent for a nursery
Cons
Hours are long, don’t get to leave when shift ends, Expected to do excess about of overtime.

Horrible place to work
Early Years Practitioner (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 December 2023
The most enjoyable part of the job was teaching the children. The management don't care, very few resources, the hours are long, low pay, frequently out of ratio so children were moved between rooms. High staff turnover.

Head Chef (Former Employee) - Wantage - 4 December 2023
A terrible company to work for as they do not value as a person . They put added pressure on you to achieve things that are impossible. Ask you to do extra duties not in your remit. No support if you have a problem.
Pros
No late nights or evening work
Cons
No support

You’re just a number to them!
Nursery Assistant (Former Employee) - Norwich hospital - 2 December 2023
Manager don’t care about your mental health, they have a number you can call if your struggle with mental health, contradicting themselves as they don’t support you at all! Never get out on time, you don’t get the support and help if you need it. Get looked down on and treated unfairly. Would avoid working here
Pros
None
Cons
Don’t get respected

Undervalued and spoken down to a lot
Relief Support Worker (Current Employee) - Lewisham, Greater London - 30 November 2023
I love the children but the management constantly pressure the staff and make them feel not good enough. There is far too much paperwork too and the hours long. Always understaffed too.

Managers treat staff poorly
Practitioner (Current Employee) - East of England - 28 November 2023
No one listens when asking for help blame pushed on to staff from managers. Constantly working overtime have to start early or stay late daily. If you don't work hard you become the favourite and get away with anything

Amazing work environment
Supply Assistant (Former Employee) - Ryhope. Sunderland - 24 November 2023
I highly enjoyed my time at Busy Bees in Sunderland, Ryhope. The management was amazing, always so caring towards my needs as I had personal issues. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, I didn’t feel like a newbie at all. All so caring towards each other and most importantly the children. I was so overwhelmed by the support I received when I first started here. The children highly enjoyed my activities, as I could tell by their smiles and giggles :)

Excellent nursery to work
Nursery Room Manager (Former Employee) - Dudley - 22 November 2023
Outstanding nursery (OFSTED rated and I stand by it 100%!) Learning and development for the children is fantastic, staff I worked alongside were all lovely. Managment are quick to deal with areas of improvment and take immediate actions. Staff training is always up to date, resources for staff to learn more and grow as practitioners are amazing.
Pros
pay, staff, education for children
Cons
hours, managment respect.

The Children Make the Job Worth it
Nursery Practitioner (Former Employee) - Melrose, Scottish Borders - 22 November 2023
I worked at Busy Bees Melrose for 5 years and over the years there were alot of changes. My centre director between 2019 and 2022 was such a lovely woman who helped me and made a lot of differences to the nursery. The staff I worked with were friendly and approachable. I am thankful that Busy Bees gave me the opportunity to complete my level 3 within the setting. If I had the opportunity to return to this nursery, I would jump at the chance.

Amazing company- I love my job
Nursery practitioner (Current Employee) - East Keswick, West Yorkshire - 14 November 2023
Busy Bees East Keswick is the most amazing nursery! The staff are all so friendly and work together as a team to achieve the greatest outcome for all the children. Management are approachable, helpful and the training received is valuable, you are constantly learning and getting the necessary support. The grounds and environment are just incredible. Having worked in other nurseries, the space at East Keswick is amazing, allowing all rooms to have a great outdoor space and lots of opportunities for learning. I love working at busy bees and recommend the nursery to all my family and friends.

Disappointing
Centre Director (Former Employee) - Eastleigh - 14 November 2023
Poor induction. Not given sufficient information to succeed in role. Upper management have poor knowledge of statutory regulations. Poor professional culture, a hierarchy of blame.

Fun but stressful
Early Years Practitioner (Current Employee) - Sale - 7 November 2023
It’s a good place to work you learn a lot and feel like you’re doing something important for future generations. I learnt a few positive things that I’ll take with me in the future. Management could be better. Wages were never correct
Cons
Poor communication from management to staff or favouritism with some members of staff

OK experience
Cover staff (Former Employee) - Discoveryland - 6 November 2023
I worked as a relief staff from 2014 till 2022. 8 years. I gain a lot of experience from being there, the children were a pleasure to look after. A lot of training to be done, which was overwhelming. The staff there were mostly friendly and approachable. Management and leadership was Ok, but could of been more respectful. I left there because the job role was getting overwhelming and stressful. I was emotionally abused by a room leader. I wasn't treated as a relief staff.
Pros
Training
Cons
Long hours and most of the staff didn't work as a team.

Poor place to work
Nursery Practitioner (Former Employee) - Longbridge - 5 November 2023
I worked at Busy Bees for 6 months, I never felt more uncomfortable and never respected. Management and senior staff members do not support the other staff. It feels like they belittle you everyday. The hours are very long and it’s rare you get out on time unless you are management or senior staff members. If one thing was misunderstood management would immediately come and shout at you instead of pulling you aside and speaking to you. All they care about is the money and not the staff unfortunately. I would not recommend this company to work for.

The place isn’t the issue, it’s the company.
Early Years Practitioner (Current Employee) - Thetford, Norfolk - 2 November 2023
I’ve worked at 2 busy bees locations and they’ve completely lost touch. Staff are trying to stay about the children, but the company only focuses on money.

Ok place to work
Nursery Nurse Level 3 (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 30 October 2023
It’s ok nothing to rave about. Management is always on your back. Care more about what impression they make and what the nursery looks like rather than runs.
Pros
Work with children
Cons
Everything else

A starting pointing for a career with children
Senior Room Manager (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 23 October 2023
It is a great way to start your career with children and families. You learn the basics of children safeguarding and the development of children 0 to 5 years. They provide vast amount of training, but the hours can be long some days are 7am till 5pm.
