Good Team Environment
Network Build Engineer and Network Product Owner (Current Employee) - East Kilbride - 31 March 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedReally enjoyed my time with the Cab Office. Exposed to new technology, stayed for over 3 years as a contractor. Sadly IR35 ruined it for many making it financially difficult to remain.

Working with the biggest challenges
Expert Services Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 8 June 2021
At the Cabinet Office you get to see the whole of government working and collaborate across department to improve outcomes for everyday citizens across the UK, on the most important issues of the day. Your work forms part of the headlines you see every day. Budgets are tight and perks are good but economical as you’d imagine for public sector.

- Support from manager
- Supportive environment
- Sense of belonging
Energetic and competitive
Intern (Former Employee) - Westminster, Greater London - 17 June 2020
The unit I worked in was the Prime Minister's Implementation Unit, this was very competitive and a fast paced unit. Most people don't stay for longer than 2 years due to the level of intensity and because they used the unit as a stepping stone for higher positions in other departments.

Rapid pace, challenging and diverse environment.
Deputy Director (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 31 January 2020
Very interesting environment with lots of challenge. Complex Transactions has been created to advise other government departments and therefore operates on a similar basis to the big 4 Consultancies.

Cabinet office
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - 10 Downing Street - 14 January 2020
This was an excellent establishment to work for, and very exciting. Fast paced. Good team players. I really can’t say much more due to the location of this establishment.

Interesting and varied workplace
Operations Assistant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 18 December 2019
Cabinet Office is an interesting place to work with opportunities far and wide in varied aspects of Govt work. Good benefits but salary could be increased to reflect cost of living in London.

Could do with improving.
Commercial manager (Former Employee) - Westminster, Greater London - 21 July 2019
could not imagine how poorly organised the place was. Lots of politics and poor effiency.
Pros
Nice people to work with.
Cons
Poor effiency

Awful experience
- Insufficient support for instances of bullying and harassment. Especially if the person concerned is your Line Manager.
- Full of favourtism. Leaders promote who they want.
- Constant changes to the structure of Unit. Changes swept under the carpet when they don't work out.
- High turnover - have seen many people leave after a few months
- Lack of diversity and few BAME staff.
- Very hierarchical.
- Poor IT systems.
- Deadwood senior civil servants who think they are experts in everything because of a long stint in the civil service.
- Waste of public money.
Pros
Centre of government - looks good on CV
Cons
Far too many - see description!

Backward and insular
Civil Service HR (Former Employee) - London - 6 May 2019
Great place if you had patronage, terrible for diversity. The BAME ceiling was very low and often condoned by underhanded sabotage. Bullying mindset firmly entrenched.
Pros
Kudos of working at centre of government
Cons
Poor working practices and a prime example of wasting public money through busy-ness

Great oppertunities
Newcastle - Recruitment Advisor (Former Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne - 15 April 2019
Administrative based role, consisting of answering calls and responding to emails whilst ensuring that all admin duties and processing has been kept up to date.
Fun place to work with many different people from all walks of life and plenty of opportunities to progress and develop yourself.
