The dress code for the staff is normally uniform. During covid pandemic this was changed to scrubs for all the clinical staff. Admins can wear own clothes instead.

Visit more areas, not just the wards, visit the medical secretaries and other admin staff to get a balanced view, while it’s important to see areas where patients go, it’s also important to visit as many staff as possible as they all deal with patients and can give another perspective.

Recruitment is an ongoing problem throughout the NHS, however it could be somewhat alleviated if those already employed were cared for in such a way as to make them feel that they are valued and want to stay. A culture change is needed before this could happen.

The contracted hours are industry standard hours, however there is constant pressure to work beyond these hours.
