As a department of the University of Cambridge, we are at the forefront of education. We support teachers, schools and governments around the world to unlock the power of education for every learner. We provide authoritative, independent thought leadership on assessment backed by evidence-based research. Our research capability is the largest of its kind and supports research on assessment worldwide. As part of a world-renowned university, our learners receive qualifications that are recognised globally. We make a real and lasting difference to the lives of millions of learners around the world. We are a not-for-profit organisation. Employing over 2,500 people and working across 170 countries, we are looking for people with a passion for education to share this exciting journey with us.

Graduate opportunities

Cambridge Assessment offers graduates the opportunity to work in various and diverse teams, gaining valuable experience and learning key business skills. Cambridge University’s international exams group is a World leading organisation, offering a wide range of job opportunities, expert training and challenging and exciting work. Cambridge Assessment currently runs Graduate programmes in Cambridge International Examinations and IT and a programme has been designed for Cambridge English, which is due to run in 2016. For IT graduates looking to work in a truly dynamic IT environment, working with some of the latest and most sophisticated technologies (involving SOA, security, mobility and cloud transition, using processes more comparable to banking than education), then Cambridge Assessment is the place to be. Over the next few years we are replacing our existing large enterprise systems creating more discrete ways of servicing our end users, the exam candidates, so they get their results faster without compromising accuracy. As we develop our end-to-end services, you’ll be close to the process able to influence solution design and implementation. Both front and backend services are being overhauled, facilitated by a substantial training budget to help new recruits and up-skill existing staff. These Schemes develop graduates quickly so that they can work independently, and the programme design encourages original thinking, allowing graduates to make valuable and novel contributions. We aim to develop people to whom we want to offer permanent roles. In addition, Cambridge Assessment piloted its first Apprenticeship Programme in IT. We increase the learning opportunities of people all over the world, and this was an opportunity to make a difference to lives on a more personal level. We recognise that there are many talented people in IT, who have not been afforded the opportunity to gain a formal qualification. The IT Apprenticeship programme has allowed us to tap into this talent, while giving enthusiastic IT hobbyists a start in the industry.

The Triangle

Cambridge Assessment, the University’s international exams group, will be moving to a new home in 2018. Called The Triangle, this new international headquarters will bring together all Cambridge Assessment’s Cambridge-based staff, currently based in 11 different offices across the city, under one roof. The site is on what was previously Cambridge University Press’s Edinburgh Building on Shaftesbury Road Cambridge, to the South-East of Cambridge city centre. - Catering areas, meeting rooms and archives space - Around 1325 cycle parking spaces - Green and outdoor spaces for relaxation and work including a number of courtyard gardens - The extension of the avenue of tree planting along Shaftesbury Road, creating additional habitats for wildlife - A 39.1 metre tower that will be a landmark when approaching Cambridge from the south
