Life at Capita
We're continuously embedding responsible, sustainable and inclusive business practices through our people plans, community engagement and environmental programmes so we can create better outcomes for the people that work here. At the heart of this is ensuring that we’re creating an open, honest working environment where everyone can be themselves and be respected for the value they bring.
We value people with different aspirations, experiences, and ways of thinking, but what unites us are our shared values. Whoever you are and whatever your background, we want you to be yourself here, at Capita. Our values define who we are, how we work and help us create better outcomes. Open: We are honest, transparent and respectful. Ingenious: We think about what’s possible. Collaborative: We achieve more when we work together. Effective: We care about doing the best job we can.
We do everything we can to make sure that we create an inclusive culture that reflects the diversity of our colleagues, our clients, their customers, and the communities we work in. We're striving to become an even more diverse, inclusive and responsible business, so we need people from all walks of life, with different skills and experiences, and a passion to help us keep getting better. Our employee network groups champion diversity and inclusion, and provide everyone with an open and supportive platform where they can make their voice heard on a wide range of topics such as sexuality, faith, equality, ethnicity and more. We value differences and encourage everyone to bring their ‘whole self’ to work. Whoever you are, we want you to know that you can be yourself here.
As well as standard benefits, we've got voluntary ones too, designed to suit your lifestyle and support your financial, social, physical and mental wellbeing. Our benefits include: 23 days’ annual leave (rising to 27), holiday buyback with the option to buy up to 5 extra leave days, pension scheme, life assurance, dental insurance, private healthcare and online discounts covering retail, health and wellbeing, and leisure.

Diversity & Inclusion at Capita
As a large organisation, we continue to invite fresh perspectives into our work, discover innovative ways to positively impact the world around us, and create better outcomes. We already have a range of employee networks that represent every strand of diversity, to provide a place for people to connect and learn from each other, which anybody can get involved in. These include the Family Network, the Ability Network, Rainbow Alliance (LGBTQ+), Embrace (Race and Ethnicity) and the Multi-Faith Network. We have also recently established a Wellbeing Network and Gender Equality Network in 2021. These networks are led by our colleagues and supported by our executive committee to drive change and conversation across the business, as well as to mark important events, from Black History Month to Pride. We’ve also partnered with The Youth Group to understand the most effective ways of supporting young people currently out of work, whether that’s through employment, internships, mentoring or career development training. On top of that, we have a range of initiatives around training and development to support our colleagues, including specific support for ex-military, reverse mentoring, and different flexible working options. Our colleagues have access to Employee Assistance Programmes, a wellbeing hub, as well as trained Mental Health First Aiders and Wellbeing Champions. We’re part of the 30% Club, which offers mentoring for women to help increase female representation in senior leadership, and as a response to Black Lives Matter, we’ve committed to ensure at least 15% of our workforce at all levels (including 5% Black) are from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. Disability Confident: Launched by the Department for Work and Pensions, Disability Confident is a scheme that’s designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions. As Level 2 Disability Confident Employers, we’re positive about the skills that people with disabilities can bring to our business.
