Ok
Seasonal Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Oxfordshire - 30 June 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedTemp sales assistant position quite busy over Christmas. Store management good, but tried to apply for supervisor vacancy and higher management dragged their heels until after seasonal contract was over so had to seek employment elsewhere

Awful
Keyholder Supervisor (Former Employee) - Northampton - 30 June 2022
Don't know if it was just the shop I worked in or the whole company but it was so disorganised. I did 13 days in a row once and was threatened with a disciplinary when I refused to come in on the 14th day. 6 of those 13 days I was lone working and couldn't have a break. Expected to come in early or leave late and not be paid for it or risk getting chewed out for anything unfinished. High staff turnover so building relationships was hard. Had a manager shout at me on the shop floor infront of customers. I tried to go to higher ups and they kept saying something would be done but nothing was, so under my doctors advice due to the stress I was under, I handed my notice in.

Not a good company
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Darwen, Lancashire - 30 June 2022
Not a great company at all. They don’t care about their employees. The best thing about the job was the staff, i met people who i now consider to be my friends, but the company is awful and only care about money. Work life balance wasn’t great, had two saturdays off in 10 weeks and at one point did a six day week, on a 6 hour contract. No support for employees with disabilites, requests for reasonable adjustments were made and never responded to. Felt like i couldn’t ring in sick due to understaffing issues towards the end and when i had covid i was asked to come in whilst still positive, dispite asking not too. The job is stressful, especially when you are left on the shop floor alone during peak hours such as lunchtimes, which was frequent; and dealing rude/impatient customers, trying to serve and inflate balloons at the same time ect. really not worth the pay, no support or benefits, no support from HR/ paroll, emailed twice myself and one email sent from the workplace about disability help and no emails were ever responded to. Really not great.

Okay if you're a cash-strapped student, otherwise, avoid
Temp (Former Employee) - Brighto - 27 June 2022
Like all retail jobs, you get to serve and work with a wide range of people which is fun, however, training is nonexistent, pay is rubbish and the work culture is toxic. The only benefit is the money

Unappreciated
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - Portchester - 27 June 2022
Rating says it all. Not appreciated for the work you give, expected to drop everything to work, even on your days off. Pay is horrendous for supervisors as you only get paid supervisor rate while you supervise even though you are trained up.

great place to work.
Keyholder Supervisor (Former Employee) - Heckmondwike - 24 June 2022
I started off as a sales assistant, I loved my job, my management and district manager was so lovely and supportive, I had career progressions and was trained as key holder and a supervisor , loved the job and would go back in a heart beat if the wage improves
Pros
Overtime, management, fun place to work
Cons
Wage is not the best

Not a good company to work for at all
Sales Supervisor (Former Employee) - Darlington - 21 June 2022
Worst company I have ever worked for, give u stupid contract hours then expect you to do all the hours god sends over the seasons then drop u back down to contract hours when there over, feels like they use you for the seasons, u get no support from your area manager, & managers that come to run your store never stay very long because they get no support at all

A warm environment with amazing colleagues
Seasonal Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Glenrothes, Fife - 8 June 2022
The managers were friendly and helpful, as well as the staff. Everyone looked out for each other and fostered a really fun atmosphere to work in. You never feel like you’re being overworked, despite how busy the shop could get.

Fun place to work
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Enniskillen, County Fermanagh - 7 June 2022
When it’s seasonal times there be’s loads to do setting up new plans, keeping product full, setting up new card plans. However other than that can be a chill place to work. Staff are friendly and can be fun creating balloon displays and show of your creativity.
Pros
Fun doing the balloons
Cons
Can be long hours with only 30 min break

Room for improvement
Seasonal sales assistant (Former Employee) - Barrow-In-Furness - 6 June 2022
It’s such a 50/50 review. There are good things and there are bad so it’s mediocre. Management isn’t the greatest, they hate new starters but are so rude about it. The pay is okay but they’re slow with your payslips coming through. The job culture it’s self was boring and customers were always rude

Card Factory Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Stockton-on-Tees - 3 June 2022
Loved the people working there. Very Busy at Christmas Time. Need to be aware of lots of deliveries. You’ll be on your feet all day. I worked through the end of Covid so masks weren’t mandatory

[customer assistant] (Former Employee) - Birmingham B42 - 31 May 2022
The key to working here is the team members are brilliant and helpful perfect job for a first job or any job. But they’re particularly helpful and kind to those who have not worked in the sector or are young

It was okay
Christmas Temp (Former Employee) - Newport, Newport - 27 May 2022
Will bf dreadfully slow and boring if there's not a special holiday coming up, right around the corner. Otherwise it's okay, not too special. I guess making balloons could be fun.

Eldon Square Card Factory
Key Holder (Former Employee) - Newcastle City Centre, Tyne and Wear - 24 May 2022
All I can say is the year I spend with the staff at Eldon Square Card Factory was fantastic. The manager is really supportive and makes sure you are comfortable and trained well within your role. The team are also absolutely fantastic and help the day go by quickly. If a job opportunity ever comes up and you’re thinking about taking it, you definitely should.
Pros
Good training, fantastic management, great team
