Initiatives/Working Practices
Values Based Recruitment – Our “No experience necessary” approach to recruitment means we operate a values-based recruitment strategy ensuring opportunities are open to all. We recruit against our values which are Teamwork, Caring and Passionate.
Community Based Events – Our colleagues participate in various community events. These range from LGBGTQ Pride events across the country, to Barrio Fiesta in London and many more.
Inclusion Networks – We have a number of inclusion networks which colleagues are encouraged to join, and these include Colleague Voices, Mental Health First Aiders and an EDI Committee.
Interactive EDI Calendar – Available for our homes for diarising themed celebrations and awareness days in the homes.
EDI committee - Involving frontline colleagues in generating feedback and ideas based on their own lived EDI experiences.
EDI strategy – To recognise that fostering a positive equal, diverse and inclusive culture is a continuous and ongoing activity; our initiatives need to be under constant review ensuring they continue to meet the needs of our ever-changing and ever-growing workforce and resident community.
EDI Training – Care UK offers equality and diversity training to all.

Fulfilling Lives
Fulfilling lives is the core purpose of Care UK. It is about delivering great care for the residents in our homes and remembering that we can make a real difference by supporting their wider family through challenging times. It is also about making sure that we support each other to learn and grow so that we can all have fulfilling careers.
We also have a core belief that helps us deliver fulfilling lives: that every one of us makes a difference. This is important for every single member of our team to remember, whether you are a housekeeper or hostess, carer or kitchen assistant, manager or maintenance person... we all have an important role to play in delivering fulfilling lives for residents, their families and each other.
Key to all of this are our three values: caring, passionate and teamwork. These values are important right across Care UK, from helping us think about the type of people we invite to join our teams to the way that we approach our work.
