Support is in plenty from the management and work colleagues. Life balance, happy with my pay package. I’m very happy working for CareUK.
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Hartismere Eye - 17 November 2023
On a typical day at work, in a different suite like every other day, Staff and colleagues support me throughout the day as I learn more on how to give better care to residents. Meal times are happy times, when some residents meet up in the dinning hall. Most enjoyable moment is when after assisting with personal care ,meals, and after an outdoor / garden walk activity , residents appreciate with a ‘thank you for all you do’ and a big smile. That makes me know I made a difference.
Pros
Break three times a day on 12 hr shift
Cons
N/a

Most amazing company to work for.
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Shrewsbury - 7 November 2023
It does not feel like going to work, I did not believe there was a care company that puts so much effort into the care home, they are very bespoke every item is of amazing quality, there is so much equipment for each suite, the food is amazing, it's like eating in a very posh restaurant, management are fantastic, very approachable, make a point of coming to see you,, regional manager visits all the time also makes a point of coming to see you, daily meetings with all departments, managers door always open,, I always feel fulfilled, able to spend time with residents, activities every day all day, all suites involved together, I love seeing the smiles from residents who give us so many compliments, Best company I have worked in 30 years working in care.
Pros
Having a amazing environment to work in where nothing is too much trouble.
Cons
Do nit get paid for breaks.

Promise the world but don't deliver
Senior Carer (Former Employee) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk - 6 November 2023
Very clichy environment where seniors are regularly trying to out do each other than support each other. So many management changes was difficult to gain any grounding. Constantly offered progression but they never delivered. Best thing I did was walking out.
Pros
Caring for the residents
Cons
Poor managemeny

Poor treatment
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk - 4 November 2023
Management has favourites and can treat some staff very poorly. Leadership staff can be intimidating and rude. You can work hard but still be told it’s not enough. Real shame as residents and other staff make it a lovely place to work.

Exhausting job, fine workplace
Health Care Assistant (Current Employee) - London - 2 November 2023
The job is okay but quite tedious. Over time you become more and more exhausted from the physical labour of some residents. Working in a team is important, but some team members believe they are above you when you are new, even when doing the same job.
Pros
Some free snacks in the mornings
Cons
The residents

Unsupported by management. Little to no training. High employee turnover. Don't give bonus
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Stroud - 31 October 2023
Training is very poor. No support from management or staff. Annual leave given with no discussion. I learned nothing had to find information myself. Very toxic environment. Left on your own very early. Hardest part of the job is telling management and no one listens.
Pros
Residents and families are fantastic
Cons
Care for residents and staff poor.
