Good frontline team
Non emergency car driver (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 31 December 2020
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOverall a good company to work for. Very supportive and understanding, They do care about the patients and will do all they can to help. On the negative side there is a situation where certain members of staff will tell on you if you are late for work which doesn’t help anyone. Management need to be more consistent with rules that apply to everyone. I think some members of staff who work with in Bury St Edmunds should take a long look at themselves and think how they conduct themselves. One member is extremely lazy and cannot be trusted which is a shame because it effects others.
Pros
Very supportive and understanding
Cons
Too inconsistent with dealing with staff issues

Too many lies told
Care UK Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 25 February 2023
They told us how it would be like this and how great it would be but when we started that was a different story, bullying and noone seemed to care the higher up people who were more senior didnt like to help someone who was lower.

Terrible
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 2 February 2023
Absolutely awful, staff aren't cared about and the whole management team are a group of friends who only care about themselves. I have never had a job where the staff are neglected as much as this place. I would genuinely rather be unemployed then have to deal with those people again.

A family and support system
Senior Team Leader (Current Employee) - Ipswich - 4 November 2022
I’m fortunate enough to have worked in several areas within the home and have to say, I still love it, if you’re willing to learn you can, if you want to stay in your chosen role you can, I think there are opportunities for anyone who works for them! And I’ve found true friendship and the way the staff actually care for the residents is fab
Pros
Free meal, lots of perks
Cons
Saying goodbye

Mentally Draining
111 Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 6 June 2022
Worked for 111 ran by Care UK, the job is mentally draining and management just do not care all they want is the call time of talk time to be low. No care for your mental health after dealing with a difficult CPR call or mental health suicidal call. Management often sit talking and having a laugh while health advisors sit chained to the phone with no support.

Terrible management and not person centred care
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 27 June 2021
Terribly run, management doesn’t care about staff at all. Almost hostile relationship between day and night staff. No understanding for individual staff requests, with clear favouritism. Management doesn’t view residents as people, more room numbers and promote staff to work in a “fast and efficient” way rather than person centred and understanding. Annual leave is more than often declined unless speaking to those authorising it directly and having a “valid” reason to request. I left after six months because it was impossible to have a work/home life balance and felt like a prison sentence turning up to work every shift! - Strongly avoid
Pros
Sometimes get breaks
Cons
Extremely negative experience

Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Asterbury place Ipswich - 26 May 2020
Nice place to work but staff can be horrible at times but I was there to look after my residents and care for them how they should be care for and looked after .

The people are nice... That's it
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 2 October 2019
Your job is never secure. They will find a way to sack you... 3 people in 3 days while I was there. I left on my own will. Hours changed and forced to choose what they want you to do. Weekend is essential. Asked to come in when my child was sick. Money wasn't worth it
Pros
Free tea and coffee

Honestly the worst place I’ve ever worked and I’ve had 12 jobs
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ipswich ip2 - 21 November 2018
I was with careuk for roughly two years and I enjoyed it, until my shift patterns wasn’t fair, when my daughter was born they didn’t care that there was complications they only wanted to know when I would work, when I had to attend a funeral, wasn’t supportive, when I was severely ill, didn’t care just said I had to many sick days and that I am liable to be sacked if it continues, holiday wasn’t dealt with fairly, pay was almost always wrong, management always acting as if everyone should kiss their backside because they earn loads more money but without the careers the management don’t have a job? But yet they still treat them unfairly. Only way to get anywhere with this place is to kiss the managements shoes and be the most obident stupid person you can be, then maybe you’ll rise up the career ladder but hope you don’t mind the stupid shifts, unfair treatment and having your pay messed up
If you have a doctors appointment on your day of working and you ask for it off, nope, good luck.
Family emergency? They’ll see it as tough luck but however if they have a family emergency then the management can leave straight away?
Would you call that fair?
Would you want to put so much work into something they’ll take advantage of to benefit them?
Would you want to have no time for your family? Would you like to have no social life?
If yes to all the above then this is perfect for you!.
Pros
Free sandwich for lunch...really that’s it.
Cons
This place in general

Productive and fun workplace.
Trainer/Health Advisor NHS 111 (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 18 October 2018
good standard of work ethic amongst good hard working people.
the hard parts of the job are dealing with high volumes of calls without a minutes rest, this can be detrimental to patients calling in.

Good employees make it good place to work
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich - 21 August 2018
Unfortunately didn't pass probation, was a very good place to work. Friendly staff and management who make coming into work bearable. The only real negative is the nature of the job which can be very dark and stressful at times.
Pros
Staff, pay, overtime
Cons
Difficult jobs, stressful

Awful place to work
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 18 March 2018
Avoid this place as much as possible. Management think they are above human and ooze arrogance when actually they are small minded idiots who got these positions of power from sacking up to the right people.

Watch your back!!!!
Service Manager (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 23 January 2018
The staff turnover should have flagged up warnings signs, the 'politics' are a nightmare, the staff are extremely 'clicky' if you don't comply to their bad working ways then you will not fit in at all.
Agency and bank staff are used all the time due to the fact they can't get staff to stay.
Management are unsupportive and will use you as a scape goat to feather their careers.
A handful of staff are great but it's the marters you have to watch.
Work life balance.... It's just work.. No life!
Stay away... It will ruin your confidence and career!

Care U.K.
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 6 August 2017
This was a good establishment to work at due to the kind nature of the people that worked there. The management was not bad and was managed by a kind person but it was not very organised management, which was it's only downfall.
