Okay
Administrator (Former Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 5 April 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedEnjoyed my time there but could get very stressful due to lack of staff, resources or support from managers and was frequently asked to work extra hours. Had a high staff turnover and not a lot much opportunities available for personal or professional growth.

Great company
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 1 September 2023
I received so much support and the training was second to none. I started off as a carer in the community and progressed to team leader, leading a team of carers

Management will always close ranks
Nurse (Former Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 21 October 2019
Absolutely nowhere for staff to go with concerns and issues. Management close ranks and totally protect each other, leaving staff unsupported, stressed and floundering.

Worse place I have worked, very clicky, if face fits you will be fine, no encouragement to advance in career even though promised. Unsafe practice very quick for patients in and out as soon as possible even if not really ready for discharge.

Administrator
Administrator (Former Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 19 January 2017
By far the worst job I've ever had, management are unapproachable and I often feel there is no support in place. I have seen numerous occasions where HR have been kept in the dark about inicidents.
Both my direct managers aren't professional and are happy to discuss colleagues personal issues out loud. Most staff are shown the door if they question anything, over 30 staff lost from one department in one year and nobody investigated!
My interview was in no way accurate to what the role actually entails. What concerns me the most is that patients are under these people's care!
It was such a relief to leave and I would recommend thinking twice about this company.
Pros
Nice colleagues
Cons
Low pay, lack of respect

Rewarding work
Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Portsmouth, ENG - 14 May 2015
Washing & dressing residents, serving meals, feeding where required. You learn all aspects off caring including manual handling. Open door policy with management. Very friendly. Hardest part is when dsomeone dies, very sad knowing you did your best. The most enjoyable is putting a smile on their face, having a laugh with residents, knowing you're helping them keep their independence.
Pros
making someone smile
Cons
long 12 hour days

Fulfilling.
Care assistant (Former Employee) - Portsmouth - 29 October 2014
Lovely to work for Care UK and helping make someone's life a little happier.
This job could be emotionally exhausting and that is the hardest part, however, I only moved on because at the time I couldn't work nights and my shifts were predominantly night shifts.
