Productive and fast paced environment.

All I can say is that if you do not enjoy working closely with people, have a passion for helping and caring for people do not attempt to work here. Because the job is demanding but can be very fun and exciting...You work with amazing staff and wonderful residents you can look forward to seeing everyday.

Pros

Free lunches etc...

Lovely place

Not too shabby... Long hours, but the income doesn’t compensates the stress. Free meal, nice management, and freedom to express yourself. My feedback says it all.

Pros

Free meal

Cons

Long hours and underpaid

Interesting

If you get job satisfaction from working with the elderly, this is your job. But stay out of the staff politics at all costs as this can be quite a gossipy place.

Horrendous place to work.

Senior staff aren't very nice they like to remind you they are above you. To much work for the rubbish pay they are giving. Hours are to long. Breaks are to short. They just expect to much of the staff and half of them don't have a clue what they are doing.

Cons

Other staff

Lovely place to work

The people and management are lovely and very caring. However there is a lack of communication between care workers. But the job itself is very rewarding, getting to help people makes it worth it

Best thing of the job is the residents

Comes across as a professional and luxury care home once you start working there it soon becomes apparent this is not the case. The residents are promised the earth but their expectations do not live up to reality. Poor management, low staffing levels, favouritism, back standing amongst work colleagues. Some team leaders with zero experience in the care sector.

Good pay and working conditions.

This is a high end care home that is well run and maintained. They recruit well and offer excellent on the job training. This is a world away from the last home I worked in where we were alway short staffed mostly due to unreliable staff that often failed to turn up. When the number of residents increased, they recruited more staff per shift to deal with it. The residents are well looked after and the rooms and equipment are second to none.

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Not close to a bus stop.

Poorly managed, poorly staffed.

Not a good place to work, high turnover of staff due to uncaring management and low pay for what is expected of you. Staff are constantly being overworked and not well supported.Lack of training and support throughout all departments as well as extreme lack of communication between managers.

Pros

Free lunches

Cons

Badly managed

Stressful but rewarding

Most residents and staff nice to work with , though with staffing issues you can be pushed to your limits , so much work expected from you can have some extremely stressful shifts

Poor care standards and negative atmosphere

Although the pay is good the general atmosphere at work is not a positive one , old fashioned out dated care is practiced when there is nobody official around the day and night staff do not get on with each other as the staff who choose to work in the day expect most of the residents washed before they come in this is not in the residents best interests and goes against everything I believe as a carer I try to promote independence and dignity

Pros

Pay

Cons

Low work atmosphere

Not supportive

I have worked for CareUK for almost 3 years and every suggestion, report or complaint has not been taken seriously nor is it followed up. Management are rude and do not care about your mental or physical well-being as will keep physically aggressive residents even if they draw blood from staff, which has happened to me plenty of times. I have been told that it’s not managements problems if someone feels unwell and they will not properly allocate staff after finding out someone has called in sick but will pretend to. Staff are not part of a union and never will be so don’t expect any benefits. The work itself isn’t actually that bad and some care homes are good but it’s the management that is the issue so can’t really avoid it lol

Pros

Free lunch (even if it’s tasteless)

Cons

The management

Overworked, under appreciated

Low pay, overworked, and under appreciated. And kindness constantly being taken advantage of as a weakness. Very racially motivated, and clicky staff environment.

Care UK: A Disappointing Work Experience with Ineffective Management and Mixed Employee Interactions

My experience working at Care UK was marked by several significant issues that ultimately made it a disappointing and frustrating environment. The management's inability to listen, the lack of consideration for employee time, and mixed interactions with colleagues all contributed to this negative experience.
