Excessive workloads.

The home is a lovely home, the home management do a great job in challenging circumstances. Head office and regional have unrealistic expectations. Too many keyboard warriors. Lots of demands. Too much data inputting. The home and all the roles are extremely busy with excessive workloads. Too many tasks in too little time. The pay could be better.Working with the residents provide lots of satisfaction. The home is a fun place for the residents with regular dress down days for the staff which help the morale.

Cons

Excessive workloads. Too many tasks in too little time.

A complete shambles

Do not ever work for care Uk , they will never appreciate you & will work you to the bone. They are not passionate are the level of care what so ever , the main purpose of care uk is money driven only.

Dont care uk

Management are horrible No structure to role Very low staffing Do not value staff at all. Everything is done on the cheap. Staff dont stay. Half an hour break in a 12 hour shift.

Pros

Absolutely none

Cons

Far too many to mention

Poor management

The support houses are fairly good to work in. The clients are great and seniors and staff very good. The operation manager has several members of her family working in each support so poor practice there. She is unsupportive and her idea of supervisions are asking you into a room with a Senior taking notes and intimidating you! I’ve never experienced anything like it before and Izvestia worked in care for 37 years.

Very little support, long hours, mediocre training

I had already previously worked with people with disabilities before applying for this role, so I had a inital idea what it would be like. Very stressfull, long hours, but the main gripe was the training, very mediocre and I really didnt find id learnt anything really, and it was extremly boring. Support, wasnt great considering the role is mentally tiring.

Would never recommend anyone to work here.

Staff are treated like robots, residents are left in bed all day when there are not enough staff. Nurse don’t support the care assistance, This company only cares about making money they are the worst company to work for. I wouldn’t leave my cat there.

Pros

Absolutely none

Cons

It hard work with little reward

Do not work here

A company run by idiots, great if you have a friend who is in charge then you can sit sunbathing and smoking all day with them, delegate all actual work to staff you don’t like and make it clear, lots of bullying by the person in charge and her friend. Clients bullied into having lunch out at places to suit the people in charge and their money being spent on lunch. Disgraceful!

Thank you for taking the time to provide you comments. It is concerning to read a reference about bullying. Care UK adopts a zero tolerance approach to bullying and harassment and it is within our best interests to resolve this for you as soon as possible. In the first instance, we encourage employees to speak with their Home Manager about how they are feeling. If this is not possible or has been unsuccessful, please do make further contact with the HR Department at the support centre and we will ensure that an investigation is carried out.We wish you well for the future,Care UK Careers

Avoid at all cost

Really bad management who don't give no support just dictate orders. Staff are too scared to speak out as you will get bullied until you leave. Constantly under staff putting residents at risk. Basic care cannot be provided as this is suppose to be a caring company. Careuk aint got a clue as to what is really happening in their homes. Staff turnover is really bad as any decent human being would not want to stay in such a bad place Minimum wage for care workers and no paid breaks. No sick pay so you better stay healthy. Bullying culture and no team work. Don't believe what you read about this company as they really ain't got a clue as to what is really happening.

Pros

Residents who are unfortunately in their care

Cons

Manager has no manners

warm environment

I enjoyed working for these but felt I needed more of a challenge and a new out look for my career. I worked with adults with learning disabilities.

Management are not supportive enough to staff

Management are not supportive enough to staff. Workers are Underpaid and overworked. Staff are told one thing from one manager and another from another and the blame is passed to the staff when mistakes happen even after management Approval

Not a very enjoyable place to work

Meeting the same clients who you know their needs and very easy to support. Learnt to keep to self and do my work diligently. Listens to gossip and divides staff. Work culture of reporting each other and people facing disciplinary measures that end up not being true and letters of apologies written. The hardest part of the job is to be paired with someone who spends the day looking for errors than co-supporting the client. The most enjoyable part of the job is to fill you have done the best for the client.

Pros

Knowing the days of the month you are to work, meeting new nice people, going to recreational places and holidays with the client.

Cons

Risk being reported, sleeping in for more days than expected because someone calls in sick

Very Good

You gained life experiences working with elderly clients in such a setting. It was flexible so I was able to study and at the same time work. Teamwork was key so it makes the job enjoyable.

Pros

No

Cons

long hours
