Jobs at Care UK
The Hardest Role I’ve taken on
N/A (Former Employee) - Surrey,England - 21 September 2023
I am sure as a company I am sure that Care Uk would have been great to work for. And other homes present in a totally different way.. Sadly a particular home is extremely poorly managed, no checks in place to oversea staff are heard, cared for and respected. Management do not care for their staff. You’re not offered a thank you or great job at the end of the day. No appreciation or recognition is given at ALL. Management style is archaic. Staff exist to complement the manager and support their career endeavours. There’s no encouragement to progress unless management want that for you and so various members of staff are treated unfairly -invariably leave.. Pay is an issue and management don’t take the time to support and ensure you have a clear understanding as to how it works… Communication is a massive issue. Nothing is properly shared. Management talk about staff and you hear about changes from the great vine instead of directly for line management.
Pros
Pay

Team Leader (Former Employee) - Mildenhall, Suffolk - 23 July 2023
As with most large organisations, there are many cogs within the machine and perhaps I just encountered the worst of them.My experience with Care UK was incredibly negative, once I had actually been onboarded - which took almost 4 months from initial interview and acceptance of post. The management was neither supportive nor caring. The residents were not well cared for and the staff were mostly apathetic in their roles. I can only comment on my own experience of course, but if offered any role within this company, I would recommend that you consider it very carefully before accepting.

Great people terrible managers and false promises
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Orpington, Greater London - 11 July 2023
In a day to day work it was good with the team that I was with, I was recommended by head nurse to be a team leader and when I first spoke to this with management I told them I can only do day shifts and gradually night shifts within 6/7 months due recent bervement which they was ok about it and said they will start training by next week. 1 month passed 2 months passed 3 months! And heard nothing from them, I asked and they said said it will soon but it never came

Poor management
Senior Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ashford, Kent - 11 July 2023
When I started I was excited to be joining a large company that looked to be offering good things, staff were friendly and some had been working there since the home opened, the deputy manager was lovely and really cared, once she left everything quickly went downhill! Management changed twice in the short time I was there, most recent manager brought in alot of their own staff they'd carted around from home to home, these individuals were rude and obnoxious, protected by the manager and given promotions over more experienced staff members even though they spent most of the day off the units and in the smoking area - with the manager! All in all alot of great care and support staff were pushed out if they spoke up about any issues, current management favour some staff members over others, these people will get what they want and do little to no work throughout the day. I would not recommend working here unless there was a big change.
Pros
Residents lovely
Cons
Management awful

Limited trajectory
Physiotherapist MSK Spinal (Former Employee) - Manchester - 10 July 2023
Working in MSK service was good, but continued professional development didn’t encourage company support. Changes of practice were dictated in such a way that didn’t offer options. It became a pain centromeres service and all employees were pushed into this even after job descriptions were focused in a different manner.
Pros
Annual leave, sick leave
Cons
Mandatory 12 h shift pattern, breaks not always honoured, double booking patients, low pay
