Loved everything about Care UK. Their understanding of the industry is second to none. They have a great training programme and genuinely care about their employees.

Management is awful they don't care about the residents I just here for fun as it has been seen while working for the company it's all about staff not the residence people just seem to be here for the paycheck and when we try and give feedback it goes nowhere. Hours that you don't want to do kitchen assistant have to be chef for the same wage second chefs have to be head chef without any help or knowledge of what they're doing. I could go on.

Where do I start I have worked for care uk for 5 years .This last year I have realised there is no understanding from management when you are ill, you are just a number. They have no respect for staff their family’s or residents it’s all about money during a pandemic I want to say the staff at Silversprings’s are amazing they work there butts off and always give 110 percent in everything they do but it’s just never enough for management they always want more and it’s never good enough. There is never any recognition for what you do or how hard you work this place would be amazing without the bad management. Also if your face fits your ok if it doesn’t you’ve had it.Don’t bother to complain or take out greiviences as they get brushed under the carpet and ignored in a very clever way ,if you want to be worked into the ground then this is your place to go leaving shifts exhausted. Care uk is so focused on paperwork than care good job staff put it into the right order and do what residents deserve. There is so much more I could write but will refrain myself

If your face fits or you personally know management you'll do just fine. If not then you'll be prayed upon. Work life balance is good that as well as it being rewarding for looking after the residents are the only perks

Have experienced and witnessed bullying and no repercussions. If you get in with the manager you are safe. Used to be a good company to work for. Staff not listened to and issues ignored.

Great care staff, challenging but lovely residents. Management ruined my experience, humiliating other staff during meetings if care plans not up to scratch. Take them to one side for god sake! Having to give an account of every minute of your day! None stop, no respect for carers on the floor, referring to carers as "them" and "they" Timing breaks to the second. Never any positive feedback for a job well done. Not the best place to work.

Very nice place to work. No day is the same. Good relationships formed with fellow colleagues and management. Patients were a delight and family were great! I really enjoyed my time here. I learnt many skills and loved it. However I wanted to progress my career in a cooperate company.
Pros
Free meals and building relationships
Cons
Salary just about meets minimum wage

At first, this job was very exciting and so different to all the other jobs I had. Such as retail. Management and staff were polite and helpful. After my first year I started to see colleagues true colours. There's a lot of gossip and blaming going around rather than actual teamwork. A lot of workers like to use shortcuts which can be dangerous to residents. Some Nurses are too lazy to get involved and help and like to keep themselves to themselves which sometimes makes it difficult if you can't get any help as your colleagues are busy. The job is very challenging but also very rewarding.
Pros
Free Food after meal times have ended.
Cons
Short breaks, no life balance, long days/nights. A gossip and catty environment. Salary should be more for what care assistants do.

As Deputy Manager there was a lot of Admin work to be done but I made every effort to walk round the Home on a daily basis to chat to the residents and their families which was very rewarding. I gained an incredible amount of insight into how to give our residents the very best care.I also talked to staff to ensure they were happy and enjoying what they were doing and to be alerted to any problems if there were any.Had regular staff meetings with the Nursing team to ensure we were delivering the best care for our residents.I always had an “open door” policy and staff trusted me.
Pros
Free lunches

Care UK are a great company to work for. Work life balance is excellent. Fantastic team spirit. Everyonenthey employ seems to be like minded regarding company goals and standards of care. A real family atmosphere. Very very poor pay for such a demanding job role. I feel they let themselves down...caring and hardworking staff simply move on to better things and that is a shame.
Pros
Free food on shift. Family atmosphere. Excellent work life balance. Variety of hours available.
Cons
Minimum wage.

The residents were all lovely and compliementive of me. Some wouldn't do without me if I wasn't on duty. They were always asking of me. I will miss them so much especially the ones passed away. I always think about them. Even on their bad day, they still put a smile on just because they have seen me. One resident wasn't eating because I wasnt on that shift. I will never forget the residents. Up to date I get calls from ex co workers that residents are asking of me. It's nice for someone to think about you.Family members were all nice and supportive of meManagement couldnt support me get my qualifications after working with them for two and half years.Although I loved my job and my residents, it was time to move on with my life and career. It's too bad that managment refused to sign my NVQ, I have put alot for this company.I have gone the extra mile but with no recognition.I just hope God will guide me to achieve what I deserve in my career in care with another company. Some of the staff members are really horrible and when you report it, manager doesn't do nothing about it.I have seen staff shouting and hitting residents but nothing is being done after a written statement I wrote.I just hope the residents are okay because this is the time they need someone like us to tackle this pandemic and am so sorry I couldn't.It's so sad I left.
Pros
Lovely residents, some nice staff, fun environment
Cons
Lack of support, No career ladder
