Learn lots with good people.
Operations (Former Employee) - London - 25 June 2021
Want a challenge and make a difference? This is the environment for you. A company going through change with a mission to be customer centric. There are great managers working at Catalyst that really know how to grow talent.

Unfair treatment
Housing support manager (Former Employee) - West London - 3 November 2020
Catalyst treated me so unfairly , I don't recommend it as an employer at all. They choose people depend on the individua's favourite. This is not fair at all

Productive workplace
HR Operations Manager (Former Employee) - Ealing, Greater London - 31 October 2020
I enjoyed my time at Catalyst, It was well structured and organised.I did not like the hotdesking, but all other aspects were good. Management style was very open and time was not wasted in unnecessary meetings. I left because of the travelling, had it not been for that I would still be wotking for the Organisation.
Pros
Great wellbeing activities
Cons
travelling and hotdesking

Great Company poor senior management
ASB (including Safeguarding and CCTV) Manager (Former Employee) - London - 4 July 2020
I worked at Catalyst for over a year and was excited to be joining a great company with a strong reputation. Unfortunately promises at interview did not materialise- no budget and no staff. Director very quickly became a bully which was known throughout the organisation but senior management didn’t do anything until they had no choice and then needed an outside HR rep to review and recommend. No consultation at management level especially in the housing section. However there were some excellent managers and the business partners in HR were great.
Pros
Some great colleagues and quite innovative in many ways
Cons
Poor connection between senior management and middle management

Adequate
Estate caretaker (Current Employee) - Portobello square and village - 27 May 2020
It depends on which position you have. It can be rewarding and frustrating at the same time . It is a massive company so there are lots of opportunities if you are looking for work

It’s not about housing, it’s about sales and profit.
Head of service (Former Employee) - Ealing - 24 April 2020
The ‘business’ comes first - over and above clients and residents it’s about the money. And if you care more about residents and not enough about profit expect to be offloaded. The head of HR focussed first on her reputation over and above being decent to colleagues. Compromise agreements were the order of the day for anyone who was stand out and didn’t have the low-rent suburban culture of the management team

Jobs at Catalyst Housing
Can be stressfull and un organised.
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Southall, Greater London - 17 March 2020
Poor management form Catalyst but having a great team on site makes it worthwhile. Policies and procedures where all over the place and constantly changing. Don't feel they appreciated the hard work the team had put in to get results which we smashed consistently.

good place to work
Sales Administrator (Former Employee) - Dunstable, Bedfordshire - 6 March 2020
A good place to work, people are friendly and easy going. It can be a at a fast pace at times but overall good place.
A lot of training is provided for new beginners. The eating area is relaxed and you have marks and spencers come to the office. There is a park next door so you can have a walk around in your lunchtime if you like doing that. There is a café at the park also which have good food at good prices.

Community engagement team is excellent
Customer Service Advisor (Temp) (Former Employee) - London - 16 January 2020
very busy and competitive work environment, real friendly team,. Management was ok but was not very intrested in their temps, they did not offer support or training. They are thrown into chaos, if you are not able to withstand a challenge i would not reccommend. Plus they do not keep temps nor do there contracted employees gain prospects. The housing department is not well run. Community engagement is excellent.

Terrible management
Executive (Former Employee) - Various - 10 November 2019
Management are all over the place no morale amongst staff. People leaving every month and no stability in the team.
No recognition or respect or trust for that matter. It needs a whole new overhaul to get things right again

Excellant
2nd Line Engineer (Former Employee) - London - 21 October 2019
A yearly evaluation is the perfect time to set clear goals for your professional development. For example, if you want to progress to a higher level, you will need to take on extra tasks and prove that you have what it takes.
Through the two-way discussion with your manager, you’ll be able to identify and set clear goals for the following year. It will also give you something to base your progress on, which will help when it comes to the following year’s review.

Mobile specialist Reading
Mobile Specialist (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 3 October 2019
I covered this post for 2 years with excellent feedback from both tenants and external agencies and developed the job in southeast area. Unfortunately management don’t look past the face fitting part and need people to a puppet! Shame as new values of the company as great just not used by all. Get through a little look of staff in tha

Non progressive work place for temps
Housing Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 6 April 2019
Non progressive work place for temps.
My team who were all temps, some that had been there up to three years were knocked back following interviews to become a permanent member of staff, despite temping there for so long.
Management within the Customer Services directorate seemed more than happy to consistently get rid of temps
Pros
None
Cons
Non progressive work place for temps
