I was generally unhappy and struggled to get work.
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Merseyside - 22 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? None, never any local work. Was told there was plenty of shifts in Liverpool but I didn’t work one shift anywhere in Liverpool. All where in the Wirral, Southport and Ormskirk. I don’t drive either so it was a nightmare getting to shifts for 8am. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The lack of local work. Promised local shifts but there was literally never any available in Liverpool. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? None. I wouldn’t recommend this agency. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A struggle since there was no work in Liverpool even though I was told there were plenty of places in my area.

Horrible Company
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Bradford - 14 August 2023
Do not waste your time working for this company. Absolutely disgusting the staff are treated like nothing management do not care about you or your needs. They give you shifts that are miles away from you and when you decline to go they don't give you as many shifts. Their timesheet is just confusing and they make it so difficult with everything. Seriously I wouldn't recommend working there they don't give you any sort of training absurdity. Don't waste your time !!!!!
Pros
Pay rates when you get a shift miles away !
Cons
Everything the whole company!

Barely any shifts
Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Southport - 3 August 2023
Management seem to be very caring and I like the goals they have regarding their high standards of care. Complex care and management seem to have a really good support network, recognition and regular shifts, as an agency HCA this feels different. Struggle to get shifts in local areas especially if you cannot drive. So many available shifts are in different areas I can not personally get to as they are not within my area. Shifts can be cancelled the night before which you can be reliant on as shifts may not be regular for you. Usually no reason is given as to why they can be cancelled. It can also take a while for applied shifts to be approved, and those can randomly update. e.g I applied for 15 shifts one month and got 6 actual shifts from this. The company is rapidly expanding however they keep taking on more clients rather than focusing on the employees they have and ensuring they have local shifts. The amount of emails you get is far too much!! Sometimes three emails within minutes of each other over the same thing. You can unsubscribe from them but then could miss something relevant and important. Once had an email about an internal competition to see which manager could get the most 5 star reviews on indeed which to me really does feel like skewing the reviews. The flexibility of the role is really good! You can pick and choose when and where you want to work. The company and management seem very passionate about what they do and the care they provide. Whenever I've had to phone anyone over queries or for advice they have been helpful and friendly and line -

After working with few different companies over the years, Cavalry has been one of the best to work for. Productive and fun
Health Care Assistant/Support Worker (Current Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 26 April 2023
"The interview process here was very fast - I applied for the position and within two days, I was called in for an interview. As I was in urgent need of a job, the HR department was incredibly helpful and supportive. They expedited the process by contacting my previous employers for references and ensuring that all the necessary paperwork was approved quickly. The training here is also very intensive, and the trainers are very approachable and always willing to help. I even had the opportunity to speak with the CEO, who was a friendly and inspirational person. Overall, my experience with this company has been positive so far. The efficient interview process and supportive HR department have made me feel welcomed and valued, while the intensive training and approachable trainers have helped me to feel prepared for my new role."
Pros

Professional company with good pay
Cavalry Community Services (Current Employee) - Southport - 25 April 2023
I have been with Cavalry Community Services for 6 months now and I love it. I originally left my old company due to poor pay and poor management, this has been a greatly improved since working with Cavalry. The pay is great for this industry and I have never been short of work since I arrived. My interview process was very professional and management are very supportive to you and your clients. The office team are approachable and I can honestly say I actually like going to work now. My team mates are great, and I feel appreciated here. It is a very thorough process to be hired, but this made me feel it was a reputable company and the person who interviewed me kept in contact everyday until I was signed off to work. I would definitely recommend Calvary Community Services to others.
Pros
Good pay, friendly, professional.
Cons
None really

This company has been accommodating since I began working for them. They have always supported me when I needed it and I feel part of the team. I have been happy since I began working for community services and can see myself progressing with this company in the future.

Not enough work to be worthwhile.
Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - Chester, Cheshire - 21 April 2023
I have had no choice but to leave and write this job off as a reliable source of income. Simply put, there were just not enough shifts to make it work. There were plenty of HCA and "complex care" shifts. I had no success in booking suitable work on the app; as the few I'd booked on there were cancelled soon after as they were no longer available. It was a case of first come first served. (I suspect that other reviews stating the work goes to the favoured few are true). Much of the work was out of my preferred area and they only paid mileage if these shifts were desperate to be filled. Yes, no mileage allowance is paid. Therefore I used my "sitting around waiting for work" time to apply and get another full time post elsewhere. I have also found another agency which has more work, better pay and pays mileage as well.
Pros
Good for HCAs and nurses experienced in complex care and 1:1s.
Cons
Couldn't get work.

Professional, Family Orientated Company
Branch Manager (Former Employee) - Blackburn, Lancashire - 20 April 2023
I worked for Cavalry briefly but I’d bitten off more than I chewed with the role (at no fault of the company) From my first day, I was made to feel like a member of the family, the outpouring of support & welcoming was overwhelming and not something I had experienced before. When companies say they put employees first, this company REALLY means it. If you ever receive an opportunity to join Cavalry, my advice would be to grab hold with both hands as this is a company which will allow you to grow, develop and flourish.
Pros
The Cavalry Team
Cons
There are honestly no negatives to working for Cavalry, not for me anyway
