Got interviewed by a PM, not all the information was given to me about CBRE training and issuing of permits that is a CBRE requirement in the interview. Had to be let go because I haven't done the courses and their QHSE department wanted a site manager. I wouldn't have left my first job if all the info was disclosed and I knew about the training. Poor interview!
Pros
Money and site location
Cons
Too big, they don't care about staff and suppliers.

OverallThe worst company I have worked for in 40 years of IT, do not work for them. They will not provide the resources to cover workload and just expect everything to be covered by those few who are there. When things are missed or late they blame the few trying to cope instead of providing the resources. HR is a joke, no I mean a real joke, you can never get any questions answered. Payroll is even worse you lucky if they pay you the right amount each month and they dont really care either. Management are worse than useless, they have no interest.

I've noticed quote a lot of negative feedback about CBRE , what really surprises me are the expectations from a Global Corporation by its employees past and present. CBRE relies heavily on its reputation as a "Global Leader" in Real Estate and now FM to secure very lucrative contracts worldwide. As a field based Fabric Technician (mobile handyman) I found little to no support from management, supervisors or HQ. backup staff, who all seemed very overworked and stressed, always too busy doing their job to do their job. in the end the client was not really getting the service it was paying for and voicing this to the bottom line staff i.e. Me. I left the company after about six weeks after them still not paying my salary on time or correctly, who wants to work for a company that are not capable of getting your pay right because there are SO many people on the payroll to deal with
Pros
Company Van
Cons
Shambolic, mega global business

Only been here 3 days as an area supervisor. I wish i hadn't bothered.Van supplied damaged suspension bald front tyres and has hardly any brakes. New manager is abrupt on the phone. For your sanity don't botherThey reel you on and make false promises they can't keep. Promise you the world and deliver nothing. Employed on false pretenses

If your a black man please don't work for this company, I have written an article which I will give to the papers about their racial equality opportunities in the company. Which are none, black people are still working for CBRE for years with no pay rise nor promotions. If your white middle class you will fit in perfectly. I have witnessed this behaviour from CBRE over the 2 years I worked with them. The managers are arrogant and dismissive noe

CBRE it's a money-making driven company where they don't care at all about their employees. I've been working for two years in CBRE, after working 15 years on big multinational companies and I can tell that CBRE is the worst company I've ever worked for. Management in CBRE is poor and they are not concerned about their employees. HR is practically non-existent and they are only there to find ways to not increase your salary or not to help you with your career progression. I never saw so many people unsatisfied, hating to work for a company, like the people in CBRE. Everybody around you is depressed, burned out, lacking on energy, and just hating their job. Don't work in CBRE, it's a bully company with horrible leadership and non-existent HR.
Pros
A salary to pay bills
Cons
Everything

Typical FM company. Treats all contracts the same. Will do what is required to meet KPIs etc as long as it doesn't cost anything. All employees expendable.

While CBRE are known for there excellent training, planning the course with-in your normal work program adds to the stress. As support is little and none in most accounts. The pressure is around numbers not the client, even though you are sold the job the other way. If you are a numbers type of person and can handle 24/7 pressure then go for it. Five years broke me beyond belief.

Not very good payers but training was ongoing. I was promoted but it did not come easy. The hours are long and ABM support is not supported. In house services are rammed down your throat regardless if it is beneficial for buildings or not and presents a conflict of interests.
Pros
Training, recognised brand on your CV.
Cons
Unable to retain talent due to low pay rates and internal crossing selling pressure.

Working within CBRE is a very professional place to be, and rewarding in the right circumstance. The structure is quite flat therefore the hierarchy is available to everyone and vice versa. Being a good communicator is crucial to any role within the business. In my Role as a UK & Europe Manager Travelling was a big part of the job, Overnight stays were routine. The biggest challenge was to stay in front of the clients who often man-marked the CBRE Management so we were often found on the back foot through demands which were client led. I quickly learned to understand the complex client structure to manage and exceed their expectations as a service provider. Overall a very fair employer. All employees are expected to earn their salary, if you doubt yourself or your abilities you should consider working elsewhere.
