Jobs at CBRE
Decent company
Lead Engineer (Former Employee) - Newhouse, North Lanarkshire - 23 October 2023
I had a good experience with CBRE. The odd pay issue as the overtime can be a bit off but you get it eventually. If I needed anything for the job then we would get it and found the people really good to work with. Quite gutted that we lost the contract and moved into the company. Would go back if the right role was available.

Good money, bad culture
Contract Support (Former Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 20 October 2023
Good money for the role but not a great culture, if could chain you to a desk and laptop they would. Very toxic, managers come and go as they please but expect everyone else to be in all the time

Client focused, and respect and integrity are paramount.
Contracts Manager (Current Employee) - London - 8 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There is plenty of diverse roles. They have a measurement tool that is quite consistent. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They expect you to increase your year on year revenue, even when your clients are maximised. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? In general it is pretty good, everything is based on respect and integrity. Although they push for more revenue, they expect your conduct to be respectful and integrity based. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy but manageable, most of it is spent managing the client expectations.

Not enough management on the work floor
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 3 October 2023
The role was good but the environment was toxic. Management were not around enough to control the behaviour from the staff who were horrible to work alongside. Seemed quite cliquey and was subject to a lot of low level group behaviour such as bullying, mobbing and generally unprofessional. More of a presence from management could possibly combat this but overall I think this culture was brought on by stress.
Pros
Free food
Cons
Toxic workplace culture, bullying, mobbing

Tough but rewarding
Client Accountant (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 1 October 2023
Steep learning curve for people that have the work ethic to achieve it. Too many people moan and leave because they don’t want to learn or make a change themselves. Got promoted twice and have a supportive manager. I guess it depends on the team you work in.

Slow and painful to work for
Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 28 September 2023
Okay so if you want to quote and not work then these are the company for you ! Quotes take for ever to be granted, they are over inflated prices once given customer and management will not care as it’s you on the front line and not them. They make you find issues ( 2 aweek ) to not do nothing about them but that’s okay as it makes them look good ?!? Not sure why anyone uses theses as they will cost the company they are doing the work for a fortune with no cares. Big lack of support for engineers and no rewards for good work at all……unless your in London then your good as that where cbre’s world revolves around. After being 2p’d over to these from GXO it took 8 months to even be able to do any maintenance as the organisation was shocking and no one cared or even bothered to reply to my issues I had with the building until the fault was so bad it was passed repair.
Pros
Money ain’t too bad
Cons
No help or management structure

Incompetent Contract Manager, and technical manager who had no trade knowledge or experience. Two faced, back stabbed.
Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee) - North West London, Greater London - 21 August 2023
Typical day was menial tasks that were brought about by incompetent management and their failures. Long term leaks everywhere on site, plantrooms were like a scrap metal yard.
Pros
Location
Cons
Lousy management, and client

Good company to work. Lots of training available.
Maintenance supervisor (Current Employee) - Guildford, Surrey - 12 August 2023
We work to a ppm schedule, therefore you’re kept busy. There is online training for all staff as well as courses to attend that suit your profession. I found management good and approachable and they’re willing to help. Some of the subcontractors can be awkward, however you do have management back up. There’s a good team atmosphere. You can have a laugh with the guys.
Pros
Good money
Cons
Subcontractors can be a pain

Poor management
FM (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 11 August 2023
no flexibility or hybrid working , poor management on the FM side - Associate Directors levels for Central London, and therefore very hectic , no transparency in terms of recruitment for FM site based roles, promotion can be lengthy and not well structured if you are not in the right team or joining their cluster drinking buddies. Bad experience with ADs forcing staff on taking unreasonable instructions, showing lack of diplomacy and people management skills. Good benefits, great colleagues.

Poor management
Logistics Operator (Current Employee) - London - 9 August 2023
I have worked for CBRE for almost 4 years and have to say it's probably the worst decision I ever made as the company is run very badly and management do not have a clue and disrespect decent staff..
Pros
Nice clients on site
Cons
Too many to mention

Not what it says on the tin
Associate Director (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 8 August 2023
The company do not value their staff, they publicise the right things but dont follow up on them. Promotion is only achieved if you know the right people or are the right gender or what ever political box they need to tick Better companies out there to work for than these

Easy job ruined by poor management
Maintenance Engineer (Current Employee) - Yorkshire - 7 August 2023
The team I work in has lost 30% of its staff and not replaced them even though the remaining members now cover MORE sites! No comms between management and engineers unless it’s an email to advertise the office staff having fundays/charity events/anything but their actual jobs… Payroll is comical- over the last year, my wages have been correct 4 times! If I had a 33% success rate, I’d be out the door!!! Payrise was due in January- we saw it in June.. this has happened the last two years! All in all, it was great once- now it’s lousy! Cannot wait to leave!

Nightmare!!!! Killing you slowly
Contract Support (Current Employee) - Leeds City Centre, West Yorkshire - 4 August 2023
I put 1 star because doesn't give the option to put 0! Avoid this job at all cost!! They don't training you properly!!! If you not become best friend with managers they treat you different…if you have a question they always says they are busy and not willing to support you! Be careful if you book annual leave as if you go 1 day all the job you don't do no one will do it and will accumulated… and even have accumulated job got unnecessary pressure from manager for done asap all task

Pure greed
Shift Leader (Current Employee) - City of London, Greater London - 29 July 2023
I wouldnt bother. Company dont care about anything but profits and management only care about their bonus. Package is rubbish as its bare minimum. Salary not the worst but dont be sucked in.
